So play along with me? And if we have some trouble you can post it here. My strategy is when you begin Play the Harvest Goddess game, If your lucky you can get the pirate treasure. It's really hard to get, but I've gotten it. You sell it and you get 10,000G which is enough for 1 cow and some food, or chickens if you prefer. When you get to the horse race save, memorize who wins each race, then reload and BET on the winning horse. Buy broaches ( oh yeah you have to have the basket ) you can get up to 30 plus the one you can carry in your pockets, but leave 1 space free so you can carry the basket.

The horse races always change randomly so memorizing won't help you there. It is always pure luck on who you bet towards. I usually go for the long shot and reload until it wins, heh.esteban.S wrote:When you get to the horse race save, memorize who wins each race, then reload and BET on the winning horse. If I remember correctly you could also leave your basket in the square after the event ends and come back for it later to empty out should you want to carry something home and have a full rucksack.
If you have a fully grown horse it is even easier to make a fistful of cash since you can win yourself due to the fact you and your horse are at high odds for being new to the contest.
Ah, definitely. Saving in the mine certainly cuts down on stamina usage when hoeing for stairs or looking for a specific ore/gem.

I always bet for the horse with the best odds, even though i don't earn as much money when i win then for the other horses with not as good odds.cequia wrote:The horse races always change randomly so memorizing won't help you there. It still earns a lot of medals, I fill p the basket and rucksack with broaches, i unload the basket once i get back home, but for the broaches in my rucksack, i save them in my closet, i ship them when the shooting star event comes along.
Those are odds, kinda.
Those tell you how many medals you get when you bet for a certain horse.
So lets say you bet 100 on Sprite, if he won, you would get 100 x 63 medals. (6300)
They aren't really odds, but you know that the one with the smaller number is more likely to win, it makes sense, because if the one with the biggest number (lets say 80x) was most likely to win, it would be too easy to earn medals, so the one that's most likely to win would be the smallest number.
Lets say you bet 10 on Kiseki, his number is 5x, if you won, you would get 50 medals. But look at Sprite! 63x! If you bet 10 on him, and he won, then you would get 630 medals! But since his number is very high, he is very unlikely to win.
So...... the number tells you how much your prize in medals could be, the higher the number, the more medals you get if he wins, but the less likely he could win.
They are not called votes, I don't think they are called odds wither, but I call them that anyway.

The number is the payout multiplier. It's inversely related to the odds of winning.
Say there's four horses and you bet 100 gold.
Alakazam x3
Bidoof x14
Charmander x31
Dragonite x125478
If Alakazam wins you get 300, if Bidoof wins, 1400, if Charmander 3100, if Dragonite 12547800.
The one that's more likely to win will give you less coins and the one that's less likely to win will give you more. Basically low risk:low benefit, high risk:high benefit. Of course with save and reload, it just turns into a low patience:low benefit, high patience:high benefit.
Second thing, if you enter the horse race, yes it's a guaranteed win, but by the 3rd or 4th year the multiplier is down to 1. In this case, it's better to cast your vote for another horse (one with a higher multiplier) and do nothing. Of course, you doing nothing may still be faster than other horses, so that might not work.
You can leave the basket overnight in the square if you want that extra broach. It doesn't take too long to run to the square and back.
