I dont think I've ever seen a topic like this, but who are your favorite game develoeprs. Dont include any First Party (Nintendo, Microsoft Game Studio, SCEA _____) or Second Party (Game Freak, Naughty Dog, Rare, etc.) Only third party's. Also include a reason.

Atlus (both as a developer and a publisher)- for bringing niche titles over to the US, DEAMON SOULS YEAHHHH

Criterion games- supporting their title with free updates; Burnout Paradise

Valve- community support; Team Fortress, CS

Rocksteady- for creating THE BEST superhero game to date; Batman Arkham Asylum

Visual Concepts- for avoiding to become like Madden with the NBA license; NBA 2K franchise

Ubisoft Montreal- for pushing video game console engines; Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 2, Assassin's Creed 2

Infinity Ward- for working for a company they hate, but supporting their fans; Modern Warfare 2

Well, if you're only allowing third party developers, then why didn't you say so in the title?

Ubisoft and From Software.
Also, I don't care if you say they are first, second whatever...

I used to love Squaresoft when I was younger, then they merged with Enix and together they haven't been too good.

No one comes to mind though, if I had to pick someone it'd probably be Valve. Though where's my episode 3 Gabe? You said there would be an episode 3

I've had this discussion on other board's, and somehow they always turn into console wars, thats why I want to avoid 1st and 2nd parties in the list.

Bethesda is 3rd party, they're under ZeniMax.

Here is my lists, and I will include first and second parties into these said lists...

-First Party Developers-

- Nintendo

They create Legend of Zelda, that right there is enough said, but let us not forget about Super Mario Bros. Metroid, Mario Kart, and various other gaming franchises. Not to mention that every game they release is polished and created to perfection

-Second Party Developers-

- Rare

Again, they create Banjo Kazooie, nuff said

-Third Party Developers-

- Konami

Alright, three words... Metal Gear Solid... this has got to be one of the greatest video game franchises of all time. They also create Silent Hill, what's not to love

- Capcom

Due to them creating the Resident Evil series, along with the Devil May Cry series, as well as Okami, Street Fighter, and they helped out on some really awesome Legend of Zelda games

- Square Enix

Due to the Final Fantasy Series, Chrono Trigger, and along with Kingdom Hearts

- Namco

They created the Tales of Series some of the greatest RPGs I have ever played

- Marvelous Interactive

- The create the Harvest Moon series, not to mention Rune Factory games, and River King as well
