I thought it had been previously announced that you could, but all it says on the site now is that the beginning rucksack holds 12 items (not that it has twelve slots). I'm still debating about getting this game. IoH was my second-least favorite of all the HM games, and the main reasons were the stylus controls (which I know they've fixed) and the thing with not being able to unstack items in your rucksack/fridge/etc. My least favorite was Magical Melody, because it took forever to go anywhere and it was hardly worth the effort to go in the first place, with that tiny little rucksack.

If they're going to put one of the things I hated most about previous games back in, I'd be better off saving my money for Animal Parade!

Wait, what? You could unstack items in your rucksack just fine in IoH. What do you mean?

you could definitely unstack items in IoH.
you could either push (without holding) on the stack and then push on other slots and it would individually unstack or you could push over and over and it would unstack as well. :)

and i do believe that you can still stack and unstack in SI

Hmm. Am I thinking of ToT, then? I guess I need to get IoH back out and figure out what it was I didn't like about it and see if they changed/fixed it in SI. Although the stylus controller was the big problem for me, so I'm very happy that they added button controls to this game.

Im not sure.. ive never played ToT because i lack a wii :(

&& yeah, at first i really didnt like the stylus only control either. but once i got used to it i didnt find it too bad. i just get parrinoid that after all the constant screen use ill put scratches on it or something. im glad SI has the choice. :lala:

I'm on my third DS now. I lost my first one--actually, I think someone borrowed it without permission and decided not to return it, but either way, it's no longer available for me to use--and the second one kind of wore out, probably because of all the touch screen animal care in HMDS. My new one is a DS Lite, and I've only had it since Cute came out, but it's already getting worn out.

I don't mind the touch screen for games like CrossworDS and Sudoku, and it's okay if they use it a little like in HMDS/Cute and the newest Mario & Luigi, but I've never liked the ones where you use the stylus to move a character around. I disliked that about LoZ: Phantom Hourglass, too, and will probably not like it any more when Spirit Tracks comes out, although it won't stop me from getting it. (I like PH overall.) A big part of the problem: I'm left-handed, which means most of the time my hand is in the way of seeing where I'm trying to drag my person.

I got a Wii when it first came out, and it was really kind of a waste of money for me. Aside from the fact that they're considerably cheaper now, I only have five games, and I've downloaded three from the Virtual Console. It's handy when I don't want to fire up my laptop just to check my e-mail or look up something online, but I mostly use it for the Internet channel and to play my old GameCube games (and my GameCube still works fine, as far as I know). I got it mostly because I LOVED Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and I was thrilled when Super Paper Mario came out. But it's nothing like the previous games, and I was thoroughly disappointed. I only played it once. I did like Super Mario Galaxy and MySims, but I haven't stuck with them. I really liked ToT, but I've played it to death and I'm glad there's a new one coming out. I don't even remember what the fifth game is. Oh, wait--Animal Crossing: City Folk. It was fun for awhile. Everyone keeps telling me I need to play the Rune Factory games, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. There are a couple of new ones coming out soon that I'd like to try first (like AP!).

O_o are you stabbing the screen or playing using a knife tip or sumtin? you dont need much pressure at all....so try using a lighter touch when playing. less than pen to paper type pressure...just barely touch it, like youre lovingly and gingerly stroking a baby. also maybe get a screen protector. i meaaan, some people arent even aware how much pressure theyre using, so practicing by using the least amount of pressure possible to get it to work is at least worth a try so you dont have to keep getting a new one every couple years~

had the normal ds since launch, or shortly after. and the ds lite since launch. and havent had any issues with the touch screen getting worn out. but we treat them nicely *strokes ds'sss's's touch screen lovingly*

and D: about zelda. i never bothered to get them but have been thinking about it, but if it relies on the touch screen im not gonna even consider it anymore.

oh really? i hope my ds doesnt wear out. i've only had one, but i've become quite attached to it.

& yeah i agree about LoZ: PH i love the game but i dont like how you have to move him around everywhere with the stylus. i would probably play it more if it was the d-pad. im right handed and the hand in the way happens with me too... i think that just happens in general.

& i've been considering a wii for a bit now because i would like alot of the games with it... but i dont know if i really should get one. i dont really like the controllers as much as the normal standard ones (like for gamecube and all) but yeah .. i dono. i also dont want to get it and then some new nindendo platform comes out.. :/
would you recomend getting it or no? :?:

make a list of all the games you want for it. ones you can actually see yourself playing. then look up what kind of controller it uses. if it uses the normal one, the classic, or the gamecube one. some games you have a choice. so if you dont like one controller, but most games you like have the option to play using a different controller...then it might be worth it.

something new will always come out, if youre constantly waiting for the next improvement, youll never have anything to play. as long as theres enough games you can enjoy for this platform, its worth it imo.

oh really? i didnt know that. :o i will deffinatly look into that. thanks for the info :)

& yeah this is very true. luckly wii is the only thing ive waited for. (wait no. not true. i did wait a bit with the ds. i finally got one a bit after ds lite came out) ill make a list and if there are lots of games i want, ill see if i can get one for christmas :3

Have you actually tried the Wii? I didn't think I would like the controls, either, but now that I've tried it, I like the nunchuk/Wii-mote combo even better than the GameCube controller. I find the classic controller uncomfortable to hold because of my carpal tunnel, but it's used mostly for Virtual Console games, and most of those allow you to use either the classic controller or the GameCube one, so for me it's not a problem. If you're really concerned about it, a lot of electronics stores have occasional Wii parties and most of them will let you play a little bit of a game to see if you're interested in it (which would also tell you if you like the controls). I would definitely recommend it, if there are a lot of games you're interested in, and I don't think there are plans for a new console any time soon. Normally they only release one title in each of their biggest series for each console, but Nintendo's own in-house developers are already working on Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Wii and another Legend of Zelda. Sounds to me like it's going to be around for awhile.

@PSU: The screen isn't scratched up or anything (although I hear some people were digging trenches in their DS screens trying to brush/wash/pet their animals fast enough in HMDS to get a red heart before the timer ran out, which I never managed to do), it's just not responding as fast as it used to. The whole thing is starting to slow down. It's fine for slower games like HMDS/Cute (except for touch screen animal care) and Professor Layton, but with faster, more action-packed games like New Super Mario Bros. and games like Legend of Zelda where you need it to respond very quickly and accurately, it's not as good. It's not entirely my fault, though. I don't know how badly it might have been mistreated--or how frequently it might have been used--while my sister had it. But with 28 animals and 3 pets, and using the touch glove to wash, pet, and with livestock, brush, plus collect milk and sometimes wool, and do that every day, yeah, they do wear out faster. When I got Cute, I didn't use the touch gloves every day. My DS Lite is lasting a lot longer than the first one.

ive looked into wii a bit more and ive gotten myself all excited about it now :3
i guess i have something to ask for, for christmas. :P

i actually might have changed my mind about the controls as well. i think it might be kinda cool to try something different. The only problem now is that its really hard to narrow the games down, since i now have an entire new console selection of games for me to choose from. >< any suggestions?

Write them all down on papers, toss them in a hat, and draw them out one by one?

But seriously, you can't go wrong with classics like the Mario series. Super Mario Galaxy has gorgeous graphics, intuitive gameplay, and there's more of a storyline than previous Mario titles have had. (Not to mention Rosalina, who's like an emo version of Princess Peach.) There's a sequel coming out in 2010 that will include Yoshi. The upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii is supposed to be more difficult and challenging than previous Mario games. It looks like the graphics and gameplay are similar to the DS game, which is an interesting combination of 3D graphics and an old-school sidescroller. I've heard Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is good, but I haven't played it yet. (There's a new Zelda game coming out next year, but not much is known yet, except it's going to be completely different from any previous Zelda and is not a sequel to TP.) Likewise with Rune Factory Frontiers. And of course I have to mention Harvest Moon! ToT is fun, the graphics are gorgeous, there's a ton of stuff to do, lots of people to get to know, and new animals, but it still sounds like Animal Parade is going to eclipse it in almost every way. I'm really looking forward to that one. And if you like old-school games, the original Harvest Moon for the SNES is out on the Virtual Console, and it was announced early this year, I think, that HM64 would be coming out "soon," but there aren't a lot of N64 games on the VC yet.

Animal Crossing: City Folk is fun if you have friends with Wiis or liked the previous two games in the series, but I'm not sure it's worth the money if you don't have someone else to play with. It's fun, but gets boring fast. And I think that, like with Wild World for the DS, you HAVE to have someone visit your town for the store to upgrade the final time. (You can find plenty of people on GameFAQs who are willing to come to your town, but some of them are trolls who just want to mess up your town, so it's hard to know who to trust.) I originally bought it because I was really excited about Super Paper Mario (The Thousand Year Door on the GameCube is still my favorite game ever), but I didn't like it. If you liked the previous two games, you can probably expect to hate that one; if you've never played one before, you'll probably love it, but either way, no one who's played it has been anywhere in between. Paper Mario 64 is on the VC already, along with Super Mario RPG (The Legend of the Seven Stars from the SNES). Most of the MySims games seem fairly popular. If you liked Pikmin on the GameCube, the original is out on the Wii with new controls, and the second one is coming out, too, and there are also a couple of games on the VD from the makers of Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles (My Life as a King and My Life as a Darklord) that are kind of similar--you sit in your castle and order your minions to collect food, battle armies, etc. like Olimar does the Pikmin.

Then there are all the sports-themed games, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and if you have a cable or wireless Internet connection, the Wii Shop Channel. That includes the Virtual Console--games from previous Nintendo and Sega consoles, as well as ones I've never heard of (TurboGrafix, Commodore64, etc.), WiiWare games that were made just for the Wii by third-party developers, and the Wii's own channels, most of which are free now. There's the forecast channel, the news channel, the Internet channel, which is basically the Opera browser for your TV, Everybody Votes, and the Mii channel, where you can make your own little 3D people and post them for others to see. They also have Mii contests every week or so if you want to enter. And not to make things any more difficult, but you do know that you can play GameCube games on the Wii, too, right?

I'm not really into Resident Evil, Guitar Hero, Modern Warfare, Fire Emblem, Naruto, Final Fantasy, Dragon Ball, or anything multi-player, so I can't really recommend or complain about a lot of the more popular series, but honestly, I've never heard anyone say they thought a Wii game was bad. Even the one game that I've disliked--Super Paper Mario--was really well-done, and I did enjoy parts of it.

That didn't help much, did it?

wtfffff. What do you people do to your DSs.

Replacing a 7$ screen protector is a lot easier than replacing a 120$ DS. I use those, they work. :/
