I don't really understand why you would need cheats for a game as easy as Harvest Moon
building your farm up from nothing is really the whole point of it
sure, SI is the hardest Harvest Moon I've played, but it's still pretty damn easy
yeah, the stamina bar sucks, but just run to the dinner or cafe and buy something to eat
but, it's you choice to use them or not
I agree

Besides, I think people that use cheats are too lazy.

If you really think so you're not a inch better than the guy asking for the activator combination.
Just another prejudice filled tard.

My oh my, people are getting so angry over something so simple as using an AR for a Harvest Moon game? My goodness! I think this is easily solved:
Those who use it, that's what you prefer to do.
Those who don't use, it, that's how you like to do it.
I don't think it's necessary to attack each other over something like this. We all like Harvest Moon right? That's all that should matter. :/

Here is my penny (I am very cheap ^_^)
I've been playing Harvest moon games for a while, I won't lie and say I've been in it sense version one....I think I go as far back as 'Save the Home Land' but I do play these games a lot. I'm the kind of player that doesn't put down a harvest moon till I have EVERYTHING. Maybe not in one go, but eventually I try to experence all of the events, marry all the the gender avaliable, have 99 or everything, have all the upgrades, well you get the idea.
Having said that, I have played many versions over and over and over and over(x99).
I hate cheating, and I'm very against guide books, I take joy in earning things the hard way, through hours of love and a sometimes frustration.
But I've gotten lax in my old age, and after banging my head against a wall for a few hours I am no longer above looking up a guide on the internet.
And now I am enjoying some of the things people like Kuugen create. I have gone through HM:IoH once, fair and square my way, but now for geting everything I couldn't get the first time around because of the boy I chose, I don't really feel like going through it all again, as a few short cuts here and there make it a bit easier and enjoyable for me.
This is not to say that I think either side is fair, or that first time player shoudl all run out for an AR and get Max Gold, or things like that. But I do think it is all about how you enjoy playing the game. I have a ton of friends who think 'beating the game' is getting to the end beating the boss and that is it, they think i am crazy for want every item, finishing all the extra modes, etc. See that is how I enjoy playing a game,
Readers Digest Version: To each his own.

There are some legitimate uses for some cheats though. Since theres only 1 save file, you can tend to make some rather silly mistakes.
For example forgetting to put your crop into the fridge before the contest.
You wake up next more, do some light farm work, save, and then noticed that your crop is still in your rucksack and not the fridge. Well, you're screwed. By the time the festival rolls around, your crop is no longer A rank but B rank just because you screwed up one day.
~
On another note
Just screwing around with cheats can be a bit amusing. It doesn't have to be for the purpose of making the game easier, but just getting some good laughs at what you can do. IE: Changing your gender and talking to your husband or wife. Or Changing weather into a vicious storm and huddling into some neighbor's house on your Birthday.
To me, if you're using the game to get something as pointless as gold, or junk like gold lumber, then you're just not being creative with cheating.

I plan to marry Vaughn then using the cheat to change to Mark. That would be fun to have the slash in game and maybe mpreg
