Either my sad defult names or I make a theme and I name the animals and characters and stuff after that.
So.. for DS I used a colours theme, for IoH I used a roman theme, and for ToT I'm thinking of using a space theme

Anyway,
Main Character name is either Mark or something with the theme for a boy. And Girl is always something with a theme to. As my name is always to big to fit in the space

Farm, Most usualy theme related. Though my defult is Emerald.

Pets, Defult are the usual cute names like patch for a dog, meowsie for a cat, Prince for a horse etc
/all names of my old toys (sad)

Children are a different story alltogether. I normally confront a naming website or the old baby name books.

Animals, susch as sheep, cattle and birds are theme related. Tough Vann's idea of naming cows and sheep after Sacred stones is the best idea I've seen for a while o.o

I always give my character my name: Kiley.

In DS i named my dog Buddy, my cat Clover, and my horse Harley. In IoH i named my dog Carlie and my horse Allie.

IoH: One day I got bored so I named my chickens after Twilight characters.

My male main character is always Ryan (after my boyfriend), and my female main character is either Courtney (my name) or Qwerty if I cannot fit Courtney.

My dog is always Jake, after my first dog.

My horse is always Epona, a habit from Zelda.

My cows/sheep/chickens always change depending on how I feel. I usually just use random words (i.e - Peach, Chub, Cheese, etc)

My farm has ranged over the years but recently I've stuck with Euphoria, and if that doesn't fit then Serene.

My horse is always Hermes and my dog is always Riku. If I have a cat I always name it Kino.

For main character names I always try to pick a name I think fits that particular character. Jack is usually Eric, Jill is Erin or Jill, Chelsea is Amy, Claire is Michelle or Claire, and Mark is Mark.

I always go with themes for naming my other animals. For example, pink-haired Harvest Moon girls (Nina, Popuri, Lillia, Lyla, Liz, Luna), Harvest Moon 64 bachelorettes (Popuri, Elli, Ann, Maria, Karen), the Sailor Quartet (Ceres, Pallas, Juno, Vesta, sometimes there is an Usagi or Moon in there as well), Sailor Senshi (Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto, Minako, Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, Hotaru), magical girl heroines (Meimi, Usagi, Ichigo, Nina, Yuuki, Mink, etc.), or video game girls (Zelda, Peach, Samus, Paula, Lucca, etc.) Usually one of my cows or sheep will end up with the name Meimi and I almost always have a chicken named Popuri.

I like to name my farm either Misty or Mist after my favorite Harvest Moon moment, the blue mist flower in 64. <3

Main character = Ash. Ranch name = Kanto Region. That makes the names of pets pretty obvious. There are 150 ready ones to choose from.

I've only done this once, but I'll probably do it from now on. You don't have to be creative. Just get straight to the game.

My character is always Kerria.

My farm is usually Oto. (made up of the kanji for cherry blossom and capital)

My animals all have short, generic japanese names usually. Rin, Miki, Haru, etc. My horse has a special name though...usually something like Rayne.

My children...it depends on who I marry. For example, when I married Cliff I chose Misa as the name of our daughter because I thought it was a cute, simple name and it was the first thing that came to mind...I saw Cliff as kinda spontaneous...

But I have much bigger plans for my AP children since I plan on marrying the wizard...his childrens' names were very well thought out. Our first child will be a girl: Aurora. Then for the second child I will let it be random...if it's a girl: Lyra, and if it's a boy: Orion.
The wizard is a very thoughtful individual so I decided to think hard about the names and pick ones that would match his personality. :3 The first child's name refers to the northern lights and the second child will have the name of a constellation...since he has such a fascination with the sky, as do I. *is proud of her thinking and creativity* X3

Random names really. Gabrielle, Penelope, Sam, etc.

The farm doesn't matter, the name never matches up with the word 'farm' so it'll always look awkward. If I'm stumped I just call it Oldway.

Animals don't matter, my silkworms were called silkwrm 1, silkwrm 2; so on and so forth. After all they're just going to die, and I don't really like most of them enough to come up with names anyway. Only special animals like my Ostrich got a name.



Kerria: Aurora and Orion complement each other perfectly. Lyra doesn't really match up so well.


...One could just slap something vulgar on everything instead. At least it'd get a chuckle now and then.

I don't really have a theme, I just name whatever pops into my head unless I'm naming my sheep whom will always be Nina (awl )
My current main char in AP is named Mina.

sheep = Nina (always)
duck = Murky
chicken = Poachy
chicken = Carl

The older boy child I'm going to have with the Wizzy will be named Sven.
Still thinking of a name for his younger sister.

I usually stick with the theme of the towns. Like Flowerbud would be floral stuff, Castanet is music, food and so on and so forth.

My character names: Boy; Shane (my name). Girl; Aurora/Melody
Pets - Usually after my real pets, or following the theme (Like Alto my squirrel)

- Chickens always are Pon, Pan, Pen, Pin, Pyn, Pun.
- Cows are always Belle, Bella, Bellu, Belly, Bello, Belli
- Horses are always Zip and Zipper
- Ducks are always Cello and Violin
- I never have any other animal i dont like the others.

Children - I'll go with my future animal parade kiddos.

- If 2 Boys; Beat

Also, when I was younger I just used curse words for everything, from HM to Pokemon to Oregon Trail. If the game tried to not let me I'd just find a way to put in what I wanted anyways.

My female character is always Teela, after myself. All the other names ma be people I know or a game series. Male character name differs a lot.

That's for AP, anyways. It always varies game to game, depending on my tastes at the start of the game, and what mood I'm in when I get a new animal. Like, I was in a pissy mood when I was playing MM and got the pig, so I named it Bacon.

Hmm... really depends for the name. I've been naming my girls "Shana" for a while now. I dunno. Just fits. Guy used to always be "Jack" (loloriginality), but now he's named after a guy friend of mine.

Farm? Something poetic and cool, like "Oceana". Same with my horse.
I name my pets after my real life pets, or something "pet-y". Can I help it that my dog looks almost just like the HM dog? I FAIL!

I generally name my animals after a theme. Once named them after bachelorettes (oh, how interesting it was to hear Popuri take Popuri the chicken to the Chicken fest). Once after jewels, ect.

I used to name the kids after whoever my character married ("Kairi" with Kai... yes, more failage). But this time around, I'm going to try to be more original.
