I've been planning my HeartGold and SoulSilver teams for a while, and renovated them a few times. I'm hoping to get both games, but if I decide to only buy one, it'll be HeartGold. Here are the teams I've settled on for the time being:

HeartGold - Playing as the female character (Soul/Kotone)
Team:
Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion - Female
Mareep/Flaaffy/Ampharos - Male
Eevee/Espeon - Either gender works
Oddish/Gloom/Vileplume or Bellossom (haven't decided) - Female
Lapras - Either gender works
Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar - Male, most likely

SoulSilver - Playing as the male character (Gold/Hibiki)
Team:
Totodile/Croconaw/Feraligatr - Male
Bellsprout/Weepinbell/Victreebel - Male
Miltank - Female...
Heracross - Male
Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite - Male
Houndour/Houndoom - Male, most likely

They'll probably be changed again when I get the games, but they'll stay this way for now.

I love Shuckle! (I won't have one in my team though)
Actually I made a turtle at build a bear workshop and named it Shuckle. ^ ^

I don't know what my team will be yet, but I know I will have Chikorita and Onix... Because I love Onix! XD

I don't really like any GSC Pokemon. Just Celebi, Furret, and Espeon, so I'm having trouble planning a team D:

I need more favorites.

Pokemon games are never difficult so I don't care about optimization. A little extra challenge is fine with me.

Hmmm: I probably posted my team, but here goes anything, oh, I really don't care about weaknessess though, this is for the main game, and I train my favorites! =D

Crobat (My main man) Cross Poison, Confuse Ray, Zen Headbutt, Aerial Ace
Lapras Ice Beam, Body Slam, Phychic, Thunderbolt
Hypno- Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Phychic
Houndoom- Flamethrower, Crunch, Sludge Bomb, Thunder Fang
Dragonite- Dragon Dance, Extreme Speed, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch
Vileploom- Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Rest, Sleep Talk

Sad..I got their moves all set up...Some major trading in Platinum will have to be done.

Hey, does anyone know if its only your starter that follows you around? Or is it whichever pokemon you have set as active in your team list?

It's probably only your starters. I can't imagine a dragonite, onix, or giratini following you. And it would take to long to make all the designs.

thats what i figured, but oh well, still is awesome that they brought that feature back from yellow version

*BUZZER* WRONG! All 493 Pokemon can follow you and if they are shiny they will be shiny when following you.

i'm so excited except the johto starters are probably that worst for league play. im ready to put another 1000 hours on this game just like my pokemon pearl.

Ive worked hard to get a full shiny team. I can't wait to have my Shiny Qwilfish following me around. <33333 you Haseo.

i never plan teams o_O i just go with whatever i feel like adding and it works well enough

in case it hasnt been mentioned, or no ones noticed yet, theres a bonus of ho oh and/or lugia figurines if you preorder. ive only seen the offer at gamestop so far though.
