...to be able to tell if you've already triggered certain events, such as rival heart events? My memory is terrible, so I have no idea whether or not I've already triggered Ann and Cliff's black heart event... whoops.

I don't think there is. Try to trigger it again, really. If it doesn' activate, you probably have already seen it.

I have that problem too. It sucks.
If you aren't too far along in your game, you could do what I did and start over.
Then keep a log of all the events you've triggered.
Like, write them down as they happen.

At least, I started to do that, but then I lost the notebook and now I'm confused as ever. D:
