Cooking 3 Egg Soup = 15 or 20 points 15 if you've cooked it before, 20 because cooking a recipe for the first time is 10 points with the next two being 5 points each.

The Brush I thought would only count for Animal degree if it was used correctly. E.G. Using the Brush on an animal for the first time of the day would get you the one Animal Degree point. I did not know if it still gives you Animal Degree if it is used without an animal or on an animal again.

Lastly, a Brush and all other tools raise your Other degree by one each time you use them. The exception is if Other is your highest degree, then they raise your Other degree by two. People feel free to correct me if I'm incorrect.

Ok can someone please please please explain in the most basic, simple terms how i can adjust my degrees to get whichever colour i am looking for as i cant see anything on fogu yet and after reading all these pages i am now even more confused than i was when i started!!!!

Oh and my lvl is expert super rancher so i have no idea yet what my highest degree lvl is!
Any help?!.......

I'm not really going deep into this, but every day or so, I'd try the saving and point increasing method - and after 11 days of trying a few times, I landed on an Orange Wonderful.

However, I would also like to throw in a discount using an Enchantment; so I promptly reload, go and do so, and proceed to swinging my Axe again... but failed to produce the Orange Wonderful again.

It takes me 2 Axe swings to pop the Orange Wonderful. I guess it has something to do with getting points from asking for an Enchantment.

My guess would be 2 points from the Axe swings, and would asking for an Enchantment be 1 point? I tried reducing my Axe swing to 1, to see if it compensates...

Any one know what I did wrong?

Sorry for the long story, lol.

Oh, and I don't know what my highest Degree is yet, because I haven't reached the point where it tells you in the title.

I wrote the original message. Now I'm in Winter Year 2. I've read through all the other messages and I don't understand how or why shipping weeds or multiplicators factor into the process of bedtime axe swing, sleep, check Chen's upon waking, blah, blah. Yes it is a time consuming process, but it is very effective and should scroll through all colors except Indigo and Purple (but Purple is easy to get from combining Wonderful Pieces from contests not won). I have green, yellow, orange and purple Wonderfuls attached to my axe and the process still works perfectly for getting to the Wonderful color I want.

Has anyone discovered a less time-consuming method that is guaranteed to work? I run out of patience after getting a 4th stone.

There is no "less time consuming" way
The only way is to adjust your degree's with +1 / +2 points
And if you run out of patience then just skip it and try next winter again

Bump-a-dump. Thought this thread deserved to be near the top.
And I have a question as well.

This has really been stumping me.
I'm going for an orange wonderful, which is only slightly relevant but I thought I'd mention it.

If I swing my hoe 3 times, sleep, and then visit chen a green wonderful is for sale in his shop.
If I Sell 1 weed, and swing once it appears again. So everything seems to work as intended. (2+1=3)
However, if I swing 53 times the green will appear again. Is this the correct way for it to work?

I was under the assumption that any tool used inside increases other by 1 so swinging 100 times should be the same as swinging none.
And then swinging 53 times shouldn't give me another green unless the 50 rolled it over again.
Also, I've tried shipping 50 weeds and swinging 3 times and it yields a green.

I doubt other is my highest degree as I've spent a lot of time mining and selling crops.

Maybe my math is just off, or that's how it's supposed to work.

Do you have any multipliers in your rucksack and you in 2nd year? may be that is affecting your count...

I thought using hoe will go into your crop degree, and axe to other, no?

The only time I had it roll over like this when I threw out 1 weed to go to odd numbers (shipping weeds 50/50), thinking it counts as 1 point, but it counted as 2 for some reason - so from that time on I just use axe for sure 1 point....

I'm still in my first year and I don't have anything that adds to degrees overnight.
My rucksack is also empty besides weeds I use for counting hoe strikes.
I'll try using axe only anyhow.

I believe you have the Other degree as your highest degree thus why it looped back at 53. I also believe that in addition to a specific degree, all tools contribute to Other degree when used. The problems with using anything except the axe are that it likely prevents you from getting the degree it raises and the Other degree to match since you're raising both by the same amount.
