I've read all these pages and it is all so confusing. I haven't gotten to my second year winter yet, but for the first year winter, I would just use the fishing pole by my bed, save and check chens the next morning. This would eventually get me through to all the wonderful colors EXCEPT indigo and purple. For an indigo I just worked on shipping milk and eggs one at a time, until the animal matched the cooking.
I do have a question though......is the maximum number of one certain color attached to a tool 4? I have a hammer with 3 slots and I attached my indigo (8 slots now) and four orange. When I tried to put another orange since i still had open slots, charlie wouldn't do it. Is 4 the max no matter how many slots you have? IoH was 9 of each color. Can someone confirm that 4 is it?

You're not supposed to post in old threads on this forum but:GaF wrote:Hi all, serious stuff this thread!
Got something more to know:
1) Cooking with wrong items (like stones) will give me +2 in cooking or not?
2) Sending failed dishes will give me +5 in cooking or not?
Thanks in advance
1. It's +5 to cook any dish (or multiples at once).
2. Shipping ione item s +2 cooking.

I apologize for posting in an old thread, but I thought there was no problem since this thread was linked to the official page of the game (http://www.fogu.com/hm8/basics/wonderful_stones.php).Murasaki wrote:You're not supposed to post in old threads on this forum but:GaF wrote:Hi all, serious stuff this thread!

Thought I'd mention the thread necro rule, cuz someone was scolding about that when I got this version of HM - it's an old game that new people are playing. I don't see anything wrong with comments in old threads, but these aren't my rules. =)GaF wrote: I apologize for posting in an old thread, but I thought there was no problem since this thread was linked to the official page of the game (http://www.fogu.com/hm8/basics/wonderful_stones.php).

Anyway, remember that your Indigo tries are going up by 2, so you're only covering even or odd matches. After 50, you have to cook something/anything to get +5 and make the number switch over. Indigo is the most complicated one to farm but so worth it if you're seriously trying to make gold in the early years.

I don´t know if this has already been posted, but I found a metod for getting the indigo wonderful wich I found easier than cooking and selling dishes.
I used my hoe at home till I got the blue wonderfull on chen´s store, but I didn´t buy it. I kept repeating the process, but I counted how many "other" degree I needed for the orange wondefull to apear. So it was like this:
It took 29 hits with my hoe between the blue and the orange wonderfull appeared, soooooooo.
since you need to match animal/other degree for blue, and cooking/other for indigo, I put 29 butter bars in my rucksack, and when I woke up, the indigo wonderful was on sale (animal/cooking).
If the orange had appeared first, I would have needed to calculate dishes instead of butter bars.
well. actually I had to cook 34 bars in a stack (+5 cooking degree, +34 animal degree) since I didn´t have enough butter in my fridge.

The maths are not necessary...no need to give yourself a headache playing a video game!
So it's 3rd winter, I tried the cooking trick to get an Indigo again - worked once in year 1. I gave up after 50 tries then 2 days later won the Mining Contest and got an Indigo. I would've looked ahead for the weather but I couldn't get online to check what I would win (had a 18 hour power outage yesterday on my day off! So played HMSI til the DS turned red. hehe)

ok so I keep getting an indigo wonderful (yay lucky me except i just spent my 60k on upgrading my maker shed so I don' t have enough to buy it)
so my question is will that mean the orange wonderful not show up cause the indigo and if so should i try to do something to change my cooking degree or animal degree so that it will show up? It probably doesn't help me that my other degree is highest (can tell from my title) Also is there a place where the maximum number of wonderfuls of each type can be put on a tool is listed? I had no idea there was a limit to how many orange wonderfuls can be put on the hammer
