Well, I'd have to say I think it is my personal favorite.
Pros:
Cute graphics, grasses actually look like grass *glares at IoH*
Lots of depth, characters have interesting backgrounds and side stories unlike with the new HMs
Simple, no missions to complete, just farm.
Hot girls. MAJOR draw.
Sprites who will work for free.
Cons:
Typos, humerous stuff; baking flour is spelled "flower", hospital is spelled "hospitel", etc.
Ummm...kid never grows up? Not really too big an obsticle to gameplay, per se...

Plus other things others mentioned. I would say definetly get it, but it's your decision. Look at Chers site too get more info, http://www.fogu.com/hm4

if you have a PSP/PSX/whatever else can play it, get BTN instead.


actually, since you like the newer handheld games, you might like FoMT. i find myself doing the HM equivalent of level grinding the entire time i play, so it feels more like a chore than like fun, and the controls are a bit wonky, but you might like it. i find BTN to be the better game, though.

This was where it was happenin' back in the day XD /was a lurking fish then

FoMT was my first HM game. It was the one that kept my attention longest too. Upsides I remember are that the characters have a bit more depth than the DS ones (although still, they're not all that great), barn and coop are already there, from what I remember, and the heart events are really good too. Downsides are that you can't stack the items, (which really, is only annoying if you're used to stacking), and the controls feel funny after being used to DS ones. But all in all, it's my favourite HM.

Yeah, before I had DS, I was fine with the rucksack, but after I got it and played a lot of it, the rucksack in FoMT seemed tiny, and I wished I could get a bigger one.

Its my second favorite of the Harvest Moon series, I really enjoy it because of the awsome gameplay. But good luck finding it in ANY stores now. Try a second hand pawn shop or something.

That's true, I bought mine (I had already played it before on emulator) a couple of months ago. It was new and still on its plastic wrapping. It was really cheap even though it was new.
