The Harvest Sprites always call you "Budum," what does that mean?

It is a sprite word for "newbie urbanite farmer." You should go burn down their hut with them in it.

But in reality, all jokes aside, it is exactly like Animal Crossing in that all the animals have something to say after every few sentences; A catch phrase if you will. Or if you want a real world comparison, it is like the letter "?" to Canadians.

Maybe it is...

BEASTS
UNDER
DANGEROUS
ULCERING
MONKEYS

Or maybe it is just a catch phrase or similar to the Canadian "eh?".

That's my guess---they probably don't even notice they're saying it. Perhaps it is code, or some hint to a major conspiracy.

I look for it on the internet and this is what I found:
Image
It's "letal" bug from Mexico, but it was a fake...

BUT it may mean: "Oh look! Claire is here, Budum (Be under discretion u meanie....¬¬)"

It doesn't have an actual meaning.

In Japanese people often like to end a phrase with a word. In this case, for the sprites, is budum...

I assume it's like buddy.

However they could have their own language like a moogle: Kupo kupo!

If it were buddy, it would kinda make sense, because they call me Budum when they have low friendship with me, but when they have high friendship they call me by my name. So basically, they probably would call me Budum when they are just getting to know me, but when they know me better they call me my name.

Ah, yeah. I was thinking that exact thought in a previous budum thread.

Anyhow, this topic has been done to death. Why is it getting brought up again by HMM no less? If I remember correctly HMM is the one who made the last budum topic I was in.
