Um... I just got the game and i got curious about the rival marriage thing and etc...
1) Does the rival marriage events also happen when you're single???
2) About littering, I heard from my friends that if you litter a lot (like 10 times) some people won't accept your gifts
3) Does the rival marriage event happen like quick as in time-wise?
4) Can you see all of the bachelorettes' events (like till before marriage?
5) How do I get started? (i mean not there is some kind of build or something...)

Thank You For Your Time!

1) Rival marriage won't happen until many years in the game, but if you're still single then, it can indeed happen.
2) I don't know about them not accepting gifts from you due to littering, but:
a) Littering will make anyone on the island where you litter like you less.
b) People won't accept gifts from you if you haven't been talking to them recently. I believe the numbers are, if you don't talk to them for 5 days, you can't give them any gifts until you've talked to them on 5 more days.
3) It's very long, as I mentioned in 1.
4) Yup.
5) Things will be very tough to get started. I recommend trying to make money off of Turnips, though plant at least one patch of potatoes. Once a potato is grown, give it to Haila so she'll learn to make Mashed Potatoes. This is the most cost-efficient dish for recovering stamina in the game, and you'll need to make use of it a lot early on so you'll have enough energy to water all your crops. Every day, go out and forage everything that you find lying on the ground. Herbs are good for recovering stamina, while flowers are more profitable to sell. If you run out of room in your rucksack, you can ship weeds, rocks, and branches as well.

Your goals to purchase for the early game should be (in rough order of utility):
-The medium and then large rucksacks
-A fishing pole, to give you something to do to make money with any leftover time in the day
-A blue and red wonderful from chen, along with a watering can from Gannon with at least two slots you can put these wonderfuls in
-A cabinet and refrigerator

Once you get close to summer, you should try to save up for a chicken coop, a house upgrade to get the kitchen, and the barn. At this point, things should be a lot more open up to you money-wise, so you can afford to spend time and money collecting sunstones.

For islands to raise with sunstones, Mushroom and Mystic islands will give you some extra foraging profit, while Volcano island will give you a chance to mine, though this isn't as useful until you have a kitchen and use it to stock up on food.

Aww, you don't need to fear over asking a question. Just remember when asking that there is no such thing as a foolish question, there are only foolish answers.

Thanks You So Much!!! :)

I was worried about the rival marriage cause my friends were saying that you had to rush the game when it came to the whole heart events

Oh no, you don't have to rush at all. Even if you do let all the other couples marry (which takes 4 years I believe), there's still at least one person who won't be paired up.

Yeah shea, mark, witch princess and chelsea have no rivals so you can always marry one of them.

If you do wish to marry someone with a rival just check the info on this site for when and where thier rival events happen and try to avoid said events then you can take as much time as you want. :lala:

You're safe from rival events in your first year. Use that year to get the person(s) you want to marry up to blue heart level. (it's purple heart level, but do blue heart just to be safe)

It worked for me. I got (him) up to yellow heart in the first year. (Take THAT Natalie!)

I meant by having you eat Chelsea's cooking, but blue feathers are good too
