No but seriously, I like how you can form relationships and interact with all the characters. Farming is fun too. I also love having kids and making a family.

to me, harvest moon is very relaxing. i love the interactions with different characters, especially with your spouse and children. i'm one of those girls who really just wants to be a mom, so that might be why i enjoy that aspect of HM so much. i also really love animals, and i'd love to someday have my own horse or cow.

I like playin' with my animals and makin' money and makin' and playin' with babies. And having all the men.

I like the marriage system and also I like how it is relaxing and addictive

I like it because I can be addicted to a single game for weeks on end and never seem to run out of things to do: fishing, farming, mining...I like it all.

And also the men.

Its fun and relaxing. Also its different than any other game

seriously I have to agree that there is always something for me to do on these games I have options I can go fishing one day,mine the next and maybe stay home and plant or forage in the mountains.

what's the main point about harvest moon you like?
Hmm, the aspect of farming/ranching. The element of marriage is a really awesome aspect. It's like the farming/ranching is a taco and the marriage/dating sim aspect is like...whatever people eat with tacos. (Mashed potatoes? I dunno. xD)
would you play a game if it involved animals but not dateing? Of course. I mean, would you have a taco without mashed potatoes? (Or whatever) Totally. It's not about the potatoes, they're not the main course!
or involved dating but not animals? Hmm...Well, yeah. But not for the price of both a taco and mashed potatoes, you know? Well, unless they were really good.
would you play an HM that didn't allow you to nary and have a family?
Of course. You don't NEED mashed potatoes, they're still good, though.

or any thing else like that? No, I think you pretty much covered them all. X3 or is Harvest Moon THE perfect combination of EVERY thing you want? Yeah, it's pretty balanced. Marvelous seems to agree that, indeed, the taco is the main course and not the other stuff. Still, I would like some more mashed potatoes ;3 (Character development...etc.)
would you play a Harvest moon game if it was only a colection of festival style mini games? Uggh...No. Dx That would be like eating a stick. or if it was a mario kart style game: NOOO! or a fighting game: Again, NOOO! or a sports game: NOOO! times over 9,000. or if it was just fishing: Well, yeah. I'm a fan of River King, or just cooking: Enh...Maybe? Probably not... or just farming Of course! or just photography: Nope. or if it was set in the city: Sure, why not? Sounds fun! or involved hunting NoOoOoO! Don't kill Mr. Cow! T_T'. or was in any way a different game that just had the same art style? Possibly.
or is harvest moon a series not to be messed with or altered and you demand that all Harvest moon games contain more then just one element all tied up with plot? Yes, I DEMAND it, hehe~ Well, I like HM as it is now and if they made "Harvest Moon" games like some of the things above...Sure, they could be fun but they're just not harvest moon to me. I would play them, but I wouldn't really think of them as Harvest Moon.
Also, I must be really hungry with all these really corny food analogies. Get it?! CORNy? Ahahaha. x)

The main point I like is the farming, most definitely, haha~ It's relaxing, and doesn't require hard core button mashing. But then again, its really the over all feel too. I would still play it if it didn't allow you to get married, because socializing in general in it is pretty fun. Giving gifts and having them change lines~ The games you've mentioned go in depth more about the specific task, and Harvest Moon is like all of them put together a bit more generally.

I like how it is right now, and the varied ways they've made it. c: . If I wanted mini games, I'd get a game that had those mini games. I also like how it has a lot of play value. You can play it for ages, and still not get bored~

hmm i guess i would mabye play a game without farming but there was dating (and vise versa) but there would have to be an awesome substitute! otherwise i think it would be the most boring game in the history of boring games!

I like it because you can get married

I think what makes this game so likable is the many different farming aspects pulled together with the dating simulation. They just make it work.

I like that you can be a virtual pimp.

I really like the interesting mini games, the farming, and the bachelors.

It's fun to get married and have kids as well. =P
