For instance, Gyrados is doomed to be forever Water/Flying type because the Dragon type never existed when Gyrados was introduced.
Light =/= Electric
They did it in the second generation with dark types. I don't see why not, honestly. <3

I did think of that, but at the same type I thought, "There's no point to a new type. Pokemon is changing too much with this 3-D stuff, they wouldn't just dump a new type on us."
I am completely against Light type speculation.
We don't need a type to have something completely super effective/immune to it.
Light type would completely destroy everything, considering how many Pokemon could be associated with this type.
Since Light overpowers everything, it'd be like- super effective to too many types, specifically Bug, Ghost, Water, Grass, Ice, and Dark.
People used to speculate there would be a Dog type. I SO WANT. ;D

Light doesn't have to be super powerful to everything. It could be weak against it's own type or Dark/ghost types. Ghost is both powerful and weak against itself.
Wood would be a good idea, but we already have grass which pretty much covers everything plant-related.
