HERES WHAT YOU DO......everyday ring the bell outside (for me its outside my barn) all of your animals including the chickens and ducks will go out to pasture. when they are at the pasture they will eat and you dont have to feed them. also while they are out there, you can collect their eggs which are still inside the barn. oh and if you have any silkworms dont forget to feed those (they dont go out to pastureXD)

p.s. dont let them outside when its raining outside otherwise the will be unhappy but for some odd reason they still produce their regular stuff. ex: cows still produce milk -- sorry didnt want that to sound perverted
