What is true in the Japanese version may not be true in the English version. You're going to have to wait until someone plays the English version, or it is released so you can play it and find out yourself.

Wait, Natsume has changed that before? Wow, and I thought erasing HMDS' continuity was a low.

um... what? Japanese characters are typically 2 syllables whereas English is only 1. That has nothing to do with Natsume.

Uh, never mind. I thought you had said that Natsume reduced the amount of spaces you had for naming things in the past. Sorry for the miscommunication!
