That's very strange. Why would they have rival events if they aren't going to marry? It seems almost pointless to do that...

Marvelous was in hurry and they didn't add the rival weddings/marriage to the game. The rival couples will stay in relationship but they don't marry.

For me, the only rival girl I don't like is Enju, but I'm not marrying Dirka anyways. XD

it seems the girls i marry, their rivals i just don't like very much. i plan on marrying freya, but this time, i actually like her rival, i just don't want him to "marry" her.

Shelfer's rival is Loyd, and I do NOT like that man. ._. He seems like a creeper to me.

Huh...it got me thinking, what if Natsume had delayed Grand Bazaar for so long on purpose, just to get the rival marriages in it? They could've waited for Marvelous to make a version (1.1) where the rivals would marry. It's always a possibility.

They won't be in relationship if you don't trigger all 4 heart events.
