I meant to marry cliff, but the day of the fall wine harvest, I completely forgot to ask him. Is there any way he could still stay in mineral town?

nope. if it's possible you saved before the event i suggest reload it and remind him, but if you didn't, there's no way to bring him back. i'm sorry, but he will leave.

Sadly no; like everyone else said. However it's not to late to start over. Perhaps your new save file will be even better with a fresh start. :3 Just remember to save the day before!

Ah, I've been there as well. I've actually had to restart a couple of times just so I could marry Cliff, but it's worth it if you want him, and not to mention that you usually do better on the farm in general the more you learn.

Agreed! This IS only year one, so you probably won't be losing TOO much when (if you decide to..) you restart, and I just also wanted to throw in here that there should be a way to save Cliff afterwards, if you happen to screw up.. XD

Plus, now you know what the gameplay is actually like, so you'll be able to catch up faster and overall just get a better start on things
