I don't think it's that bad... Sure it's a little odd, but I honestly think it suits him. Dirk is a little stranger than Ivan, if you ask me, but I like them both anyways.. xD

I thought "Dirka" would be changed to "Dirk." It just seemed obvious to me. I think Dirk is a WAY cool name because a dirk is a kind of dagger. After a little closer research...it's actually a type of Scottish dagger! How cool is that!?

^My research informed me that "Dirk" is a good name (by which I mean it means good things):

In Dutch it means "« Harvest Goddess »'s gift"
In French (or Flemish) it means "a ruler of the people"
In German it means "famous ruler"
In Scandinavian it means "rules by the spear"

"Ivan", on the other hand, means "gift from « Harvest Goddess »" (Hebrew), "the grace and mercy of our lord" (Russian), "« Harvest Goddess » is good" (Slavic), or "archer" (Spanish). (The Spanish version, by the way, is pronounced "Ee-vahn", which is how I will always, always, always pronounce it to myself- even though I know that's probably not what Natsume intended- since that's what I call my co-worker of the same name).
