Here's a list of portraits of your potential son/daughter. Even though its for the ds, they look the same.
It takes 30-40 days for the cow to give birth. I'm not completely sure, but definitely around there. After that the cow will give Mother's Milk for her calf, 5-10 days. After she'll start producing normal milk, for about a year.

The divorce scene with your spouse? I'd assume its from neglect and rudeness on your part, what I mean is perhaps answering 'wrong' or the cold option when they ask you a question, and never talking to them/give gifts.
