As you become better from friends with people they say something new. What does Basil say when he finally let's you go upstairs?

I've been trying to get up there before I get married... Help!

I believe it's Anna, not Basil, you have to befriend to go upstairs in their house. But yeah, that one's a toughy to get access to.

In the beginning (no friendship) he says in his house "Mother's Hill is home to different species of flora. That's why we came to this town in the first place! There are plants around here which don't grow anywhere else!"

Later (higher friendship) he says "You grow crops, don't you? What a great endeavor that must be! I'm so busy writing my books I barely have time for field work!"
And he tells you the recipe for fruit latte.

But this friendship-level isn't high enough for getting upstairs. You have to give him more presents and one day you can go upstairs. He'll still say the same, so you have to try after every gift.

Oh, I thought you had to be good friends with everyone in the house...

I remember having a lot of trouble getting to the upstairs room in Basil's house, because I had only give him and Anna gifts until they said something different. I thought that, by then, we were friends enough that I could go upstairs.
