But for a pokemon to follow you around, that's one badass difference. Plus, you could actually get all of the three starters, for once without having to trade.FeMonkey wrote:I think we're saying that it's getting worse because we're getting older and we have to constantly adapt to the change in pokemon. I don't really mind as it gives something a bit new and unexpected each time, especially if you are battling online, not everyone will have the same cookie-cutter set of Pokemon. It's nice to say "In my day, there were only 150 Pokemon..." but in the end, things change so we should as well. That aside, I can't believe I actually bought Pokemon Yellow on gameboy when I still had Red, seemed like such a waste because I think the only differences were the Pikachu following you around on-screen and some minor graphic changes.
Do you think Pokemon are getting worse?

You can complain and complain all you want about Pokemon, but is that going to make you stop buying the game?
...
Okay, maybe.
But year after year of pokemon, they can't exactly be the most creative about it. That's what I like about this new generation. The players are older, there's a female professor, etc.
Only one problem with me...

It might end up having a cool/awesome evolution. Who knows. I hope it does, cause it's current form looks ridiculous. xD;Kirby =D wrote:You can complain and complain all you want about Pokemon, but is that going to make you stop buying the game?

I love you.Aurora wrote:Pokemon isn't getting worse.
People who « Baaaa *glomp* » about Pokemon getting worse are getting worse.
You can still buy R/B/Y/G/S/C online.
Go on, play them.
They're « Cow Poopoo » now.
I know because I still have them and still play them.
It's like smacking your head into a brick wall.
To be honest, I think GF are doing incredibly well to be able to make new designs that still look like Pokemon after all these years.
I refuse to play any Pokemon game before Gen 3 now. That's where I draw the line. The old games were broken and lame. The Legendary Dogs don't even « Snuggly Bunny » look like dogs. The Legendary Birds look lame and generic, and Charizard has got to be THE LAMEST DESIGN EVER. I said it! Charizard is a plain and simple generic dragon. Same could be said about Dragonite. Meganium is also « Cow Poopoo ». Feraligator's « Cow Poopoo ».

I think they're getting better: better graphics, more Pokemon designs, Wi-fi, contests, etc etc. Sure some Pokemon aren't as amazing as others, but they can't all be amazing; there has to be some that people dislike
@OP: Not all the 4th gen legendaries were Psychic :/ Out of a total of 14 legendaries in those games, only 4 are Psychic (3 pixies and Cresselia)

I'd be nice to have more good pokemon in a generation than legendaries.
Few days ago I watched one of new episodes. It was about the lost Shellos. I like Shellos so I wanted to see it in the show. I must admit - the new D/P season is the worst crap I have ever seen. I believed that Johto was the worst but now I know how wrong I was. The new episodes are damn boring. The voices of new pokemon are annoying and make my ears bleed - piplup -plup-plup - what the « Snuggly Bunny » is that?! The plot is terrible - it has nothing common with the good old episodes. And Dawn is a « Baaaa *glomp* ». I loved May and I liked Misty, but Dawn plays on my nerves.Pretty_Chicken wrote:The anime is pretty awful now. I miss the first few seasons, with Kanto and the Orange Islands. Johto season was ok, but after that, it went downhillharvestgeek wrote:i think the games are getting better, but the anime just sucks

Am I the only one looking forward to Black and White not for the Pokemon but for the dynamics in how they improved the game itself and the battle system?
I think the biggest thing that people forget is that the games have exact same devoted 5 original founders of Game Freak since the late 90s and I applaud their devotion into the thing that long. You don't see that a lot with big things that become franchises. The only major difference is that the Sugimori no longer heads the art department itself, but that's just a minor thing.
And I also think people forgot the anime is intended for little kids and the newest season has since announced a change in characters aside from Ash with a new team of writers. Although Pokemon is one of the few anime that really takes in big feedback from the Western audience, it's a matter of change in cultural dispute explaining why the storylines are so different from 1 to later on: they were not accurate to the games. I mean if you actually sat through a good portion of the Sinnoh season, wincing through its lame aspects, it's the most accurate to the game's mechanics compared to the older seasons.
And yes the original games were pretty « Cow Poopy ». G/S/C got kudos for it's innovation since Red/Blue/Green's vomit.
