Hey, gen 3 wasn't suckish ! (saying that to everyone who said it)
I so liked this generation of pokémon (well it kind of was my first)
So yeah, what everyone said, people'll prefer the first generation they started with cause it was a full new thing while all the new ones are just repetition with new characters and pokémons.

At first I was like, "wth?" but now I see it.

But now I remember why I kept getting Pikachus in my game in the past...it was probably one of the cutest Pokemon there and/or not completely ugly.

Just realized the Crystal sprites are animated better than several of the Emerald sprites.

They were animated? I didn't know that.

I chose yes. A big yes. I don't like how they've made Pokemon look so cute now. I want to see some fugly Pokemon please. And don't bring back the old ones either. All of this cuteness is beginning to drive me insane. The only things I see getting better are the graphics an the legendary Pokemon.

And you guys are Gen. 3 haters. That was one of my favorite games (excluding all the overly cute Pokemon) Gen 4 was the worst game for me.

I love all Gens (well, I love Gens 1/2, but it's more of a "fond memories" love now) thankyouverymuch.

It depends on what you consider "cute." For me, I think quagsire is one of the cutest pokemon out there, but for most, they consider it ugly as hell. There are plenty of fugly pokemon in Generation 4.

I don't think you want to even blame the artist change either (yes, Sugimori hasn't head the art for a Pokemon game since Hoenn), they're pretty much responding to Japan's further degradation into "moe" unfortunately >:

I don't think you can use "cute" to describe it though...they're more so getting organic in the my opinion.

The Pokemon were more like real animals in the first games. o_o

As it wore on, they became more abstract.

Really? I like Atkins Pikachu. But yeah, it would be nice if they were actually animals again.

This is the guy who spent the entire 1st grade waiting for Pokemon Ruby, and then picked it up the first week of 2nd. I spent years with Pokemon Ruby. I. LOVE. GEN. 3.

By the way, when there were only two generations, did anybody else call RBY "the old versions" and GSC "the new versions?" Because that is the only way my 1st grade class differentiated between the two.

In the 5th grade we just said Red/Blue or Gold/Silver together.
No one openly admitted to play Pokemon in middle school though.
