Schmidt and Kagetsu's New Names
Well, it's never said outright whether Schmidt is supposed to be Middle Eastern or Indian or anything.
~Historically~ India would make a lot more sense, what with its relations to Western Europe and all, and maybe that's why he was given a Western European (specifically German if you want to be picky, though it's common in English) name.
On top of that, depending on the region it originates from, some Indian and Middle Eastern names share a lot in common with each other.
loololol Sanjaya
I found out what their names are in English, but I'm NOT SAYING ANYTHING. It's not my place to. Though I know I would have personally picked something different for Kagetsu.

He comes to their little run-down town after he's been voted off American Idol and needs someplace to seek shelter from haters, under the guise of a prince. No one in town owns a TV or any kind of modern entertainment, so they are completely oblivious and buy his story. He leaves every fall to go audition for reality TV shows or something.
And hey, he does have a sister. I'm pretty sure I remember him having a sister.

How did you find out though? Did someone from Natsume told you or what?Nurse Fin wrote:Well, it's never said outright whether Schmidt is supposed to be Middle Eastern or Indian or anything.

/Shuffles feet awkwardly...
So, uhm... How do you actually say Schmidt? X3
/shot.
But seriously, I can't even tell, so I've been going with Shh-mid-t. Is that right, or am I just makin' stuff up again? xD
And I feel the need to point out that Sanjaya's hair (On AI, obviously :3) always used to make my week. Seriously, that guy was nuts

Is it terrible that even though I did know who Sanjaya was, I don't think it would be a terrible name for Schmidt? Heck, at least I can SPELL Sanjaya without looking it up, thanks to American Idol. I have to look at the topic title to figure out how to spell Schmidt...I feel rather stupid to admit that, but still...
I haven't grown too attached to any of the Japanese names, but as long as nobody ends up going from neat totally cool name to "Bill" or "Fred" or something completely generic because they don't care to do anything neat [I loved Agi to Angelo. Honestly, I consider him more attractive a bachelor choice due to the name change!]
If Kagetsu's new name become Kagome, though, I'll lose it. That's the breaking point.
