Quick Question...

I though I was only going to have to wait until July 27 for Grand Bazaar to be released, Bur it turns out the wait will be longer. :shifty:

So, I was thinking about importing a a Japanese copy, but I need to know if
a Japanese game copy can be played on a Nintendo DS that I bought in the U.S.

Does anyone know?

It can't play it if it's a dsi, I believe. DSi = region lock.

Only DSi games and DSi ware are region locked.

DSi is only region locked for games with DSi-specific features, like using the camera. Grand Bazaar doesn't have DSi features, so no worries.

...Lexy beat me to it. But yeah, I play Japanese Wind Bazaar on my US DSi and it's fine.

Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to import a game? Because I can wait a few more months for GB and RF3 to come out in English, but if it's not too expensive, I might import TV when it finally comes out.

That's not what I meant... I just wanted to know if the DS was Region Locked, not if it could play DS games.... Sorry for not being so clear.

Anyway, thanks everyone for answering my question. ^^

When I imported Pokemon SoulSilver [I really wanted it last year, so I got it in October; my husband got it for me for my birthday. ;D] it cost $60, when the US game would have been $40-ish. Now I have the English and Japanese versions, and I do not regret importing it in the least. The nostalgia was palatable. I cried when I beat BOTH versions. XD

I was THIS close to importing WB before Natsume finally announced they were releasing GB. I thought, "There is NO WAY that I'm missing cats that can herd chickens!"

TV is cheaper than the Pokemon games. It's about $50, not including shipping. So it'd be around $60 with shipping...

Yea. Total cost was like 53 dollars for me, including shipping.

Hey that's not fair now.
Most of the older consoles weren't compatable, so it's pretty logical to think it wouldn't.
