How do you upgrade your tools in this game? I noticed that field/house/barn upgrades seem to be available on the request board, but what about your tools? Can you upgrade straight from beginning to mystrile if you have the materials and money, or do you have to wait. You seem to only be able to get so many upgrades per season; is it true there is a limit? I do not have the game yet, as I do not speak Japanese, so am waiting to see if the features available make Twin Villages worth the purchase once it is released in the United States. Thanks!

Upgrades are also done through the request system. They will appear as starred requests from Shen Lo on the Konohana board, and they are one-per-month.

As far as I can tell, in this game you are only able to upgrade your watering can, scythe, and hoe. You need to go through the levels one at a time. Also, it appears that if one (or two) of your tools are at a significantly lower level than the other(s), then Shen Lo will not give you the option of upgrading the currently highest-level tools until you have upgraded the others.

I'm not sure if that's true. I'm pretty sure I was able to get my watering can to level 7 before any of the other tools were at level 5. (I assume level 5 is the level you were talking about.) You have to do a special quest to be able to unlock the upgrade from 5 to 6, and I suspect it may depend on your friendship with Shen Lo when that quest will appear.

When you start doing the unlock quest and level 6 and 7 tool upgrades, it will pay to keep in mind that you will need the following to fully upgrade all 3 tools:

1 moonstone (I think)
1 diamond
1 amethyst
3 adamantite (I think)
3 mystrile
15 ore rocks

At 2 stars for whatever tool you upgrade first, 2.5 for the second, and so on. (Again, I think.)

So if you're breaking rocks and reloading to try to get an amethyst and accidentally get a moonstone/adamantite/whatever, I suggest you keep it. I was so mad when I found out I needed another adamantite, since I'd gotten them like 30 times trying to get a diamond but didn't keep them. u_u

EDIT: I can confirm that those quests depend on your friendship with him. I gave him a menou (whatever it's called in English) after not talking to him for months and bam, the next day I have an unlock quest for my sickle. It was the middle of the month so I know it wasn't just that I would have gotten it anyway.

The thing was, I had my watering can at level six, but he wouldn't let me upgrade it (my other tools were at 3 and 1). Or was it 7? It was whatever level at which it could carry 60 squares of water.

Thanks for posting that list, though~

It's from England, from the 14th century. :)

Not yet, Natsume hasn't even announced that they will translate it, although they most likely will, given how they have done the other HM games.

Thank you so much! (I hadn't been on here for a while, so I wasn't sure.)
