"Cook for the girls" event?

I'm having trouble activating the "cooking for the girls" event. I know you're supposed to try to cook something in your kitchen after 8AM, which I've done many times. I've had the kitchen for about a year now, and am pretty good friends with all the girls. Is it too late to activate the event, or am I just not doing something right?

I remember it took be awhile to get that event, too. I guess just keep trying? Also, if Popouri's married, I think it has to be during the summer when she's home.

Oh, thanks! that helps. I'm doing all those things right, except I'm in fall now, hahaha guess I just have to wait a while..
