Yeah, as far as I can remember, the spouse has always gone to bed at a specific time. I can't say for the older games, but all of the ones I've played have them sleeping.

Gasp! I'm going to cling to this 'going to sleep after you' idea, alright? It sounds legit ;D

I like the idea of them going to sleep after you. It implies that they care enough about your well-being to make sure you came home intact

But how does this explain it if you're a guy? Unless...nevermind!

Anyway, back on topic. I kind of wish they would go to sleep before you but it isn't a big problem. I still wish though that your spouse and kid would help with farmwork. I'm still waiting for a game that does that. Well, doesn't Animal Parade have that? I don't have that game so I wouldn't know correctly.

I could be, again, remembering incorrectly-but I believe AWL/AnWL also had something similar-where the spouse or child might help out somehow.
