Why does everyone hate 'Ivan' so much? I think it's really cute, and kinda suits him

I call the characters by the names I'm more accustomed to (usually the new ones), or I make up nicknames for them.
By the way, this might be a little off-topic, but when Rising Star releases an HM game, do they use the names Natsume gave the characters?

Besides, Antoinette is a sophisticated sounding name. That looks like it would fit her to a tee.
Hahaha! *spits out juice*
It does sound like someone sneezed. In any case, I <3 Schmidt's new name.

For me, it depends, if I have the US version of Harvest Moon, the characters will be addressed as their US names. Now, if I have the JP versions, (WB, TV, RF3), I'm still going to call them by their original names even when the US games come out.

Haha, I guess I see where you are coming from, but I still think Enju sounds cute. XD;

Oh,
Ivan's his English name?
That's not at
all girly. xD
I thought it would be like....I don't know...Julius or something(not to mock the ToT/AP character...but yeah, Julius is more girly than Ivan. =w=)
I kind of like the name Enju though. >w>; I read it "Ehn-joo"
I don't know how it's actually pronounced however.

Usually the first week or so of game-play, I tend to call them by their original names but eventually will address them with the localized ones.
However, I really prefer Kagetsu over the localized one. The first thing that comes to mind when I hear getsu (which meaning moon in Japanese) is a Japanese Shinto shrine that is bathe with full moon's light.
Well, for me, Ivan doesn't sound girly. The first thing that came to my mind when I first heard of Juris's localized name is some kind of monarch as well as Enju's localized name.
Either way, I'll get over it since I love HM so much.

Entirely my sentiments. :/

most of the time, I use the US names, as that's where I live.
the only real exception I can think of is Raguna, whom I call Ragna. Raguna just sounds so...awful.
