question: characters walk between? or transport?

Forgive me please if this has already been answered...
Do the characters walk between their "spots" in their schedules or do they transport suddenly?

Yay! It's so much better when they walk... you can catch them, and you don't have to "reload" to see them once the hour changes.
Hurrah for a return to walking! woot!
