im still not realy understanding the reasoning behind holding onto topics over 6 months old. to me it only serves to waste space.

Example: The Back Fence v2 only has 7 pages with the last topic being only about 2 months old yet some of the HM topics have over 400 pages yet if noone is suposed to post after 10 days (the 10 day rule) then why do we need topics that are 5 years old?

The back fence and posting games forum aren't help sections but more general chat and games. The other boards are help forums that can still answer questions if people use the search function if they don't want to post a new topic altogether.

At least, that is what I believe is the reasoning behind that. :/

i dont think anyone realy uses it thoguht, mind you i could be worng. but even if the same question was asked again what would be the big problem in someone replying to it again?

to me having topics that are far old (older then 1-2 years) seem to onyl serve as wasted space that needs to be payed for to keep the site running with topics that probaly have not been looked at in over a year?

When you run your own forum, you are free to make that decision.
