I asked about this game yesterday when I was in Gamestop buying something for my boyfriend for his birthday. And the guy said "the reason the game probably got pushed back was because of the holidays. A lot of games do get pushed back for the holiday seasons.". I agree with that statement if it was November and the date was pushed back to December for the Christmas holidays!! I mean what holiday is coming up? I'm confused here Gamestop Employee.

There are 2 things that it could mean:
1.Labor Day is increasing in popularity
2.The employee pulled the answer out of his « Mr.Gourmet's hat ».
I think you can guess which one is more plausible.

I'm going with two because the guy was just babbling and really talking out of his « Mr.Gourmet's hat ». I could tell.

Yeah, that's how they're all like down there. They're always so...sleezy.
I have no clue why, but I sill go there even though I hate those employees. It's amazing how they all stay in business.
We'd be better off learning Japanese and importing it at this point. >c

^Not really. TV got pushed back by months. It was originally scheduled to be released in February, but ended up coming out in June.
As for the advertising thing, most businesses want as many people as possible to know about their product, which is why they advertise everywhere. Video game companies, however, generally stick to advertising in places where gamers frequent. It's a little odd, if you think about it. Sure, there's still a bit of a stigma attached to video games, but it's going away, and will go away faster if the companies themselves stop acting like they're still a niche industry, and start advertising like they realize that most people nowadays play games.

The only holidays I know of are the Jewish High Holidays due up really really soon (right after the labor day holiday)... and there's really no gift giving.
That employee was really making stuff up! Actually I feel the same way about my gamestop's employees... I avoid them until the next harvest moon comes out. They try waaay to hard to upsell, and it's annoying. It's a pretty normal and common conversation between friends and I about which is the "better" gamestop to go to — employee wise. (we have one near us that has mostly women employees, which I find I like much more)
And yes, I meant google Harvest Moon and then find a fan site. (thanks for backing me up!)

@ Komeko- Actually, it came out on July 8th. ;D
And what do you mean by 'not really?' You're saying that you don't think that the Gamestop employees are sleezy con-artists?

^Durr, got my months messed up. And I meant it's not much better release-date-wise. GB has been delayed just shy of one month, which is much better than a five month delay (and my name is Kameko, not Komeko).
As for the upselling thing, the employees of those stores really have no choice. All service industry employees are instructed to upsell, whether it's the cashier at McDonald's asking of you want fries with that, or the cashier at Game Stop trying to get you to buy a bunch of accessories. If they don't do it, they can get fired. Besides, after months of working at those types of places, you adopt a spiel that's really hard to break. Customers might like human employees they can relate with, but their bosses want robots who don't deviate from their assigned script.

Yeah, you do have a point with both topics.
It doesn't mean that we can't be impatient, though. >D
*headdesk/facepalm/jumps off cliff* Sorry! I didn't look at your name when I typed it, I just guessed. D: (way to go Cara for not using your brain again!)
That's the last time I do that. xD

That's so true. Robots.
I have to do it at my job too. In any job that sells. So I whole-heartedly agree.
You're right, I want human beings! I just wish that the suggestions they make would actually be something other than the next unrelated game "you'd love if you like that farm simulation game!" (usually an rpg game - which is okay but I'm just not that good at them... and then they bring up the slash-em gash-em game, and I'm like um... no thanks!)

i have one word to explain the move from 27th of july to 27th of august...
Starcraft2
they simply didnt want to clash with the thing.
too many pearants would be being nagged into geting this for their other spawn that they didnt want us to have to fight with our little (or bigger) siblings to get the game WE wanted compared to the game that they will nag and nag and..well remember the 'are we there yet?!' line in the simpsons?
personaly i couldnt give a pair of fetid dingo's kidenys for starcraft2. i would prefer Bazaar to have come out on its original date. but then again, i also buy all my own games and never have to ask (unless its bought online as an import via creditcards, which i do not have) and my mom n dad never buy games for me becasue they woudnt ever know which ones TO get me. easier for them to simply buy me junk

and expect it to be okay
(though my gran and nan got it right. give me cash or put a fiver into a post office account for when i was older)
*edit* except the tital says 24th

i need to drink more coffee and lurk moar
