Is there a way to get higher quality forage items like logs and weeds?
There has to be a way or else it would be impossible to make fertilizer above 1.5 or 2 stars, as it depends on the quality of the raw materials (this is how I understand it to work anyway).
I'm in the Winter of Year 1 and I still can't get any weeds or logs with a a quality above 1.5 stars.

That won't work. The items change everyday. If you don't pick something the next day it'll dissapear. I think you can pick higher quality at the beggining of the new year. I mean on Spring year 2 you can pick 2.5 stars items, year 3: 3,5 and so on....NinjasRockYourFace wrote:I don't know if this will work, but maybe you should try letting the forage items just sit around for a few days. I know that in IoH and SI, the longer the items sat out, the higher quality they would be when you picked them. It might be worth a shot to test that out.
(But I'm thinking it only goes up by half a star per year)

So, basically, you have to play through a few years before you get good-quality items? Yikes.

Thanks for the information guys.
I can slowly raise the quality of my crops with increasing grade fertilizer. Then I create a few seeds with the higher quality plants which I can grow in the greenhouse and make more seeds from before a certain season. Then repeat the process with a small amount of the harvest that season until I have a collection of high quality seeds for each season.LonLon wrote:What is even the point of creating fertilizer? There's not enough branches and grass to even give you one row of high-quality veggies.
