I know the flowers mean the level of affection and all that, but how do you know the actual number a person has?
(and what amount is needed for each flower)

White - 0-10,000
Purple - 10,000-20,000
Blue - 20,000-30,000
Green - 30,000-40,000
Orange - 40,000-50,000
Pink - 50,000-60,000
Red - 60,000+

I think that's about right.

A favorite gift is +800 FP, a liked gift is +300 FP, a neutral gift is +50 and a disliked gift is -300. On birthdays the amount is +4,000 for favorite, +2,000 for liked, +250 for neutral and -2,000 for disliked

I have no idea how much talking, doing quests, or indirect factors (like attending festivals or any unknown factor) affect FP though.

If you neglect to talk with a villager per day, does that reduce their affection? (including bachelor/ettes)

anybody understant why they use such great quantities ?

Saying that favored gifts are 8 pts, liked gifts 3, normal 1, etc would be more simple. I don't get why they use such big numbers.

Me too. It's a lot easier to just talk to someone and see immediately how much they like you. Beats checking a bookcase everyday to see how much the townfolk likes you.

Talking to the villagers is really effective. I speak to some people almost every day (without giving gifts) and they have 3 or more flowers.

Winning the festivals is also a good idea.

I think the requests give you some friendship points, especially the hard ones (look for the orange ones because they give you a lot of points!)

I don't speak to Airin every day but I remember of her bday and I accept the special requests. Actually she has five flowers. The same is with Gonbe. I don't do the common requests for him because he still asks me for some fishies but I do the orange requests, I remember of his bday and sometimes I speak to him. He has 5 flowers too

How do you actually get these orange requests? I'm in Winter year 1 and i haven't seen an orange request yet. My request level is 4. Do i need to raise that first or something? Or do i have to raise the fp of the people involved in orange requests?
