Gameplay compared to...

So, I was wondering if I should import this game, and a big deciding factor for me is the marriage system, like so many others. xP
How easy is it to woo people? In FoMT, it was super easy, but say in ToT or AP it was SUPER HARD. Which is it more like? (And feel free to use other HM games as examples) It just drives me nuts when you can give the Favorite Gift EVERY DAY and not get them maxed in a year or so!!

Also, does this game have a lot of Kanji? I know some HM games do and some don't...I'm pretty good with the Kana (so I can play easy games with less Kanji like Pokemon) but if there's a lot of Kanji I may have to study for a while before I get it.

I think it's fairly easy for most of the spouses; I'm going for Ria, for example, and she's been at green flowers for a few days now. I give her chamomile or mint, both of which are liked but not favorites, and I'm only in fall of year 1. Of course on the other hand I give Nana cooked rice, her favorite, every day, and I'm still only at purple flowers for her. So, overall I think it's at, say, SI difficulty, but it seems harder to raise some and easier for others. I've heard that festivals, talking, and requests are worth more LP now though, and there's a dating system as well that helps raise points.

As for kanji, I only know about 50~100 or so, and I can play just fine. I do have to use my computer to translate the harder ones, but you only have to do that once per new dialogue, and I can usually get the gist of what they're saying without doing that anyways. Plus there's others on this forum translating everything anyways. o3o So in comparison, being an all-ages game, it's not much more difficult than Pokemon. The only thing to watch out for is, well, farming terms, like "harvest" and "crops" and whatnot, but those aren't too hard and the more obscure ones (like the tools and crop names) they usually just put in kana.
