Gourmet Question

My sisters have MFoMT, and there's always been a question that has bugged me. Though I don't plan on playing MFoMT, I always wondered how in the world someone would marry the Gourmet. If can you give him gifts only once a year, wouldn't that take at least 60+ years at the pace of giving him a gift worth 800+ points? Or does he get like a hidden bonus for gifts or does his heart level go up automatically if you win the Cooking Festival or something? I just never saw the point of them putting him in as a bachelor if it required that much work. O.O

Well, that's why he's a "special" bachelor. It takes hard work and dedication to get him. I would assume winning the cooking festival would have an effect on his heart level. Usually when you win a festival you get an FP/LP bonus. But I don't know if that's only in newer ones.

Too bad you have a girl in MFoMT cause if you had a boy, I'd name him Pierre for a refrence.

But idk, I wouldn't understand why they would make you wait 60+ years to get married if you wanted to marry him. I'll see if I can find more information other than whats on the Ushi site.

The stylish Gourmet is in charge of the Cooking Festival that occurs every Spring 22. If you plan on marrying this hunk-of-a-man, you'll need to win the Cooking Festival in each one of it's 5 categories. You will also need to complete all 108 cooking recipes in the game.

Just like any of the other guys, you'll also need to give gifts to Gourmet. The only time you get that chance is a few hours after the Cooking Festival is over. If you walk back to Rose Square you can meet up with Gourmet and give him presents. The Gourmet leaves Mineral Town at 8:00 pm and will return a year later.
That's basically all there is to it.

I could marry him in year 26 (it was a challenge; not real love).
You get a bonus for winning the cooking festival. (I always saved before entering the cooking festival and when he said "yes" after showing the blue feather (after I'd won the festival and gave him his wrapped Elli leaves) I reloaded, didn't win the cooking festival and only gave him the gift after the festival. This time he didn't want to marry me.)

~Thanks Susa-Ann, I appreciate it! :) I kinda thought there had to be some kind of bonus to winning. But geez...26 years...that sounds like it'd take longer to marry him than even the Goddess/Kappa. O.O Harvest Moon has gotten into the habit of making rather ridiculous requirements. I wonder how they expected people to actually find them out other than game guides. I mean, if you were a new player without a guide, you'd have no idea why they wouldn't accept your feather once you got them to a red heart, though those with invisible hearts you might not even recognize they were a bachelor.
