I made a stupid mistake and planted a lot of crops before upgrading my watering can at all! It takes to much stamina to water them all individually and I need my watering can so I can't get it upgraded! What do I do?!

Well you could befriend the Harvest Sprites and get them to water your crops for you. Or you could pray for rain. :D

I don't think this is a massive mistake though - if you don't water your crops, they won't die. They'll just not continue growing. And you could spend all day watering them. Just replenish your stamina by going to the hot spring every now and then. It's not a huge disaster.

Yeah, if you just water the crops with it, seeing as you need to use it before you can upgrade it at all anyways, so you might as well just water it like normal. Then you can build up the percentage, and upgrade it faster. That's the way I've always done it, it's not a huuuuuge problem

And if you're going to befriend the HS for help, if you didn't know already, give them the wild grass that matches their own colour ^^

DEPENDS ON HOW MANY TIMES AND WHAT GIFTS YOU GIVE THEM

I say go for the sprites instead of upgrading. (: And if you can't find matching color grass, flour is the next best thing.

Flour is the easiest gift to get for the Harvest Sprites; it's available year round and only costs 350 G to buy it for all seven Harvest Sprites. If you give them each a bag every day, it shouldn't take long at all to get them up to three hearts; it only ever takes me a few days.

It's not as good as flour or colored grass, but there is a huge daily supply of flowers (not in the winter though) in the hot spring, lake, and Mother's Hill area.
If you can't water them yourself or hire the Sprites, just save before you sleep, the next day, watch the weather forecast, and if it's not rain, reload. Keep in mind that there can't be rain on holidays or festival days. Also keep in mind the Sprite's birthdays, giving them a gift on their birthday has 5x the effect.

My advice is to do the weather trick and make it rain until your watering can is upgraded. Either that or just hire the Sprites or go to the Hot Springs. :)
