how do i ship items

i have just started the game harvest moon ds , it came with no instructions, and i havent a clue what to do.can u tell me how to ship items and how do i sell my items to people. please. thank you so much.

You can ship items by throwing them into the shipping bin next to Takakura's house. You can also sell them to Van, who can be found in Inner Inn's 2nd floor, but only on the days who end in 3 or 8 (3rd, 8th, 13th, 18th, 23rd, 28th)

The pink box next to Takakura's house is your shipping box. Take the item you want to ship, put it in your hands, and press A while standing in front of it. The only person you can sell items to is Van. He comes to town, as Gabriele said, on days ending in a 3 or an 8. His shop opens at 10:00 and is found on the second floor of the Inner Inn. If you go down the hallway past the stairs, there is a box at the end of it. Van will operate there while his store is open.

I think on like the second day of the game, Thomas comes and tells you what to do. If not, then the shipping box is right next to takakura's house. Just put the item you want to ship into your hands by dragging the item into the green slot in your inventory with your stylus, then face the shipping box and press A.
