In some games, after you finish the main goal, you can still live and play. For example, harvest moon, the sims, digimon DS, and some other games I don't know.

Sometimes I play the game even though there aren't any goal, I don't know why... I just play. My simple reason is, because there aren't any other games to play, and even though in harvest moon, I'm already married, I have a child, I obtain the main goal, I'm rich, I STILL play.

I wanna know if there are other people who are like me =)

Even after I complete the goal I'll still keep going if I like the game. Such as PMD keeps going after you beat the game I still like to continue playing, especially going after legendaries or just making a new rescue team with the pokemanz I want.

With Harvest Moon, I keep going until I am bored or I reached the max cash. Marriage and kids aren't the end to me, they are just npcs that say the same exact thing. xD

i don't really play games where you can keep playing after the end (unless you start a new game+). in harvest moon, if i get to the end, i usually start over because i have more fun at the beginning of the game than at the end. (which goes for pretty much all games, for some reason. even if the game isn't too hard for me at the end, it's still more fun to play from the beginning...)

i will, however, play a million new game+es on games that i love. you have no idea how many times i played the same save file in legend of mana, then started a new file and beat that... (i do the same on chrono trigger, though that one gets kind of boring on new game+ because it's too easy, unless yo're going for every ending [which i have done!].)

Depends, I love sandbox games, and once i finish the main goals on them i can continue playing for sometimes aaagges, or sometimes not that long, depending on collectables or general level of fun.

With HM i usually play to the kid's stage, but with AWL and HMDS I can play longer, and I do intend to.. soon.

POkemon, well obviously, play until you get all the pokemon you can get in that game..

But with like, most other games, Tony Hawk games, « Harvest Goddess » of War, Lego series or say the X Men Legends/ Marvel Ultimate Alliance, I'll have a TON of fun playing the game, and i may replay them, but I'll never continue playing the game and re-doing levels once I've completed the game..

If there are no goals, I'll stop playing.

Once I beat the game, I try to find any other goals that I can complete, and if they interest me, I keep playing. But if it ends like Final Fantasy usually does, I just drop the game. I still keep it, but I may not even touch the game until about 6 months later.

If there is any challenge left, I'll try to complete them.
If it's really fun, I'll play until I'm bored.
If the remaining things left to complete are tedious rather than challenging, I bid farewell.

Usually after completing the main storyline I'll play a little bit more, but then it gets boring. If there's nothing left to do after beating the game, I generally just drop it as a whole. And then sometime play it and beat it again. Games like Pokemon that have stories after the main story keep me entertained for a long time though. I can usually find something to do.

1. Beat game
2. Finish extra goals (if interesting)
3. Get all trophies/achievements (if applicable)
4. Move onto next game

the Sims doesn't actually have a plot o.o

hum....I think the only games like that i really play are HMs.
I did play Pokémon, but I normally just stop playing after I beat all the.....bosses. (gosh i forgot how we call them xD i seriously need to replay a pokémon game)

i play until i grow bored, move onto something new and then pick back up. if it's one that i haven't played in awhile, i'll start over.

unless it's HM or ToS,KH,LoZ games. i can play them either ongoing or over and over and over... <the latter is for ToS, KH and LoZ.

i know this though, if i get BbS, i'm not putting it down until i learn everything and then start again. i'm just that way XP

I need a goal of some sort or I tend to get bored rather quickly. For HM, I get married, save the HG or whatever and that's pretty much it. I might play a day every now and then but that's it.

The only game which I have played to death is Tales of Symphonia. Honestly, I'm hooked on that game. Even now, I like to visist it every once in a while to get all of the titles and such(although it looks horrible on a wide screen TV, espcially Triet. X_X).

i know what you mean.... that's why i never play it on my dad's cool TV.

With HMDSC I can go pretty far before I become bored. I mostly play until at least I'm in my 10th year before things become boring. The only game I've gone farther then 10 years (within an HM game) was in FoMT and I played that game until I deleted the file on my 52 year in-game. Yes, I played the same file until I was in my 52nd year. I played the game to death.

Pokemon games on the other hand, outside of little things like beating Red, the Frontier Zone, and trying to complete my Pokedex. That doesn't last long after I've completed the main storyline. I usually end up deleting my game and come up with a whole new team.

i take breaks after i meet large goals, but i still go back and play it :)
