My sheep sometimes runaway, how & why?

I have 2 sheeps, 2 cows, & 3 chickens. I feed to them everyday, I talk to them everyday, so far, my sheeps have never been stressed.
But, one day, sheepy, my sheep, went missing! The only place I could think of was the field where they're supposed to eat / find grass. And I found him / her eating grass at the large field.
I didn't move him / her, I only talk. She / he wasn't stressed at all.
A few days / weeks after that, sheepy went missing again! And I found sheepy at the large field, unaware that his / her master was worried.
Is there a reason why my sheep keeps on doing this? And are there other players like me, with runaway sheeps? My cow doesn't go anywhere, and so does my chicken. The only naughty one is Sheepy, my other sheep Shawn didn't go anywhere, only sheepy.

Oddly enough, yes, there have been reports of other players having a lone sheep that wonders off.
I suspect that the Xth animal you buy (It might HAVE to be a sheep too) spawns in such a location that occasionaly it's pathing in the barn causes it to wonder out.

it's annoying though, I found my sheep alone in the blizzard.
I restart the game, and my sheep didn't go anywhere, i'm glad it's not stressed. i don't really want to spend my money on animal medicine.

my dogs take them all out on snowy days...... i was worried the first two times, but since they didn't get stressed or sick, i just let them go.

Its rather annoying to find that lone sheep out when it rains... i have to push it in, at least it never made it to the pasture for me, and it only had a little stress.

At least your sheeps went to where they will usually go. Mine ended up beside the windmill and I have totally no idea how it ended up there...

It happens to me too. Always when is raining and my dog wont let any animals out I have to look outside... I'll always find a sheep wandering, and mad. She's the stupid thing and wanders around by herself, so she shouldnt be mad... >.>;
