WHAT IS PSP?!
There wasn't enough room for the square button's switch because of the screen so it's off to the side. So if you want it to work you have to press on the right side of the button.
Here's a picture of it:

There is also an article telling about the problem as well as Sony's "screw you" attitude:

The quote I found the most funny was "Nobody would criticize a renowned architect's blueprint that the position of a gate is wrong. It's the same as that." Uhm, I think a renowned architect would indeed be criticized if he positioned the gate so it was tight against the house and didn't open properly. I wish he'd get off his high horse and fix the problem.
They've recognized that problem with the square button and are fixing it, assuring that none of the units shipped in the U.S. will have that problem.
Kafei, have you even seen any pictures of PSP games? Sure I'm suckered in by impressive graphics, but the DS is running 2D puzzle games while the PSP has 3D racing, RPG, FPS, and sports games...

Here's a game I'm looking forward to...the Godfather.

Edit: There you go, fawkes.

Well I hope they recognize the problem with the square button and fix that as well.
That Godfather game looks VERY good. The PSP has a pretty good game line-up, in my opinion that is. However, I won't be saving up my hard earned egg-money until the design problem is fixed and they offer a basic system without all the forced extras.

Just to clear it up, the problem is fixed, although I assumed you were kidding in your post. I agree that they should offer a standard package without all of those unnecessary extras though.
Sumner: yes, of course graphics aren't all that matters, but they sure don't hurt.
The fact remains that I haven't seen very many games at all for the DS that interest me gameplay-wise.
