Agree, agree. I want background more for the regular characters 'specially since the marriageables already have some background to persuade you to marry them.

I don't think we can expect every character to have some deep story though :p There are people who are just... Normal.

Haha yeah. I think the tough part would be figuring out how to make them opening up seem natural. None of that, "hi, my name is _____. Here's my life story." stuff. :p

I think it'd be cool if they didn't just tell you either. Maybe some things you had to find out from family and friends.

Oh I know! It could work like this:
You must befriend a character for them to tell you much about themselves other than the basics (y'know, name and such). Then, if you befriend their family, assuming that this game would give mist characters families, their family members would be all like "Y'know xx has had a rough time since his/her mom/dad/important person died/left/something. I'm glad you're around. He/She really seems to have brightened up since you got here." They'd kind of give away little bits and pieces as you befriend them too.
(Oh yeah, that was a very generic story fyi)

It'd be more realistic and would add to the RF appeal, I think. Of course, I could be completely wrong and it could make the game fail so badly that the RF series would be discontinued.
