ぱんぱかぱーん♪

I just started grinning when I saw the HG congratulate the MC for getting a level in bug catching, complete with her intro silly noise (I think in the other games it's bada da da buum in English?).

Anyway, I can't help but feel TV has sort of a classic HM feel to it, back to some slightly older games. Some of the more traditional Japanese festivals are back, like Flower Viewing. Obviously it has several new aspects, but I figured maybe others feel the same as I do.

It's hard to explain what I feel is the "classic HM." It's a certain feel, that games like FoMT, DS, 64, and SNES got right for me. And TV has now been added to the list...Admittedly partly due to the HG having her "pan paka pa-n♪" after big events, though. :P Plus just something about the characters feels a bit like that; the certain personalities, etc. Also when the mole popped up when I was plowing my field reminded me oh so much of the angry mole in HM64!

So, does TV feel classic to you, or a different feel than the classic/traditional HMs?

I have to agree. This game does feel classic to me. When I first saw the Moon Viewing Festival, I felt like I was playing HM64/FoMT again. Now, with the Flower Viewing Festival, I completely forget if that was in HM64. But outside of the festivals, there is the villagers. They remind me of something I haven't seen in ages. This game reminds me of stuff I haven't seen since HM64. So, I do agree with you on this.

Yes and no.

It's like the classics, but with it's own style. I like that there are more events and it mainly surrounds farming on different levels and a bigger variety. But with the tasks, it gives you something to do than just sit around and wait for the day to end.

In comparison to IoH and SI? Yes. It seems to have more of a "classic" feel than DS and DS Cute did, too; more... personal? That's not it. Friendly? Something along those lines.

*edit* And having to work your butt off trying to earn certain things. @_@

I haven't played it, but I won't call it classic unless there are three things:

1. Moderately complex characters whose issues are grounded in reality.
2. Atmosphere
3. A lessened emphasis on cuteness.

Haha, for me, it has those things, from what I can tell, at least. Definitely 2 and 3, but I haven't played long enough to run across character secrets so I can't say for sure yet.

Especially after WB, it's so nice to have to actually work to earn things for a change...
