Hi Anoel.
In regards to your recent post, I wanted to let you know that I haven't played your game, but I've been following it's progress actively. And the lack of playing is not due to that I think it's a bad game; I am on a Mac and my emulator for windows doesn't want to run it. I'm hoping to get it working soon.
So I know this is a second-hand comment but I wanted to tell you that from what I have read and seen, I really think you've done a marvelous job on this so far. It looks incredibly comprehensive and through, and I really hope I can get to play it soon.

Thank you for the kind words, Melody Muse. It really encourages me to see that people like my work.
It makes sense that Mac won't run it, the programming I'm using to make this is proprietary (sp?) to Windows. I feel silly for not considering that earlier. Ah well.

It's really not a huge deal. I mean windows is still the predominantly used OS by far, so you're still catering to a large potential audience.

(And a lot of mac and linux users also have windows emulators; just atm my HD where I would boot into windows from is sadly fried, so I'm using a Direct X emulator until I get a new one.) Even big AAA companies often make windows only games, so you're certainly not doing anything out of the ordinary. But I promise you I will be playing this a lot as soon as I can, and look forward to it!

It is possible that I could make a Mac version, because I have a programming Mac. I would be hard though, seeing as I can't copy paste any of the code...

Check out mono as you are using windows forms you should be able to downgrade to maybe .net 2.0 and it should work on linux and mac with mono (if i remember correctly)

Hi, so this sounds really cool and I'd like to play it. My question is, and perhaps I missed reading this somewhere else, but do I need to download an emulator of some sort or can I play it just from downloading the files you've posted up on this thread?

No emulator needed! It's all in the executable and the save folder!
And I'll look into mono. It sounds interesting.

So, I played the Beta, and I have to say the time system sort of rubs me the wrong way. Given that the whole game is managed by clicking buttons, the way time passes at a constant rate seems kind of off to me. Button-clicking interfaces really lends itself more to a system were time only passes when you take actions, like, it takes x minutes to move to another area, x minutes to hoe a field, x minutes to talk to someone and so forth. Having time pass at a constant rate in this kind of interface just makes the whole thing stressful and doesn't leave you time to think about what you should be doing next, especially since the game (as far as I could tell anyway) has no convenient way to pause it. Just my two cents.

Sorry for getting back to you so late, Fishie. You have some very good points.
It wouldn't be too hard for me to add in time skips for actions. I already have that for the foraging actions anyway.
Also, time is supposed to stop inside buildings, like the general store or clinic or your house.
...I think I will add in time skips, and get rid of the constant ticking of the clock.
Does anyone have ideas for how long everything should take? And I'm also looking for ideas for people's liked and disliked things!

Hello Anoel, I'm back. My computer is all fixed and ready to go!
However I look at my computer and the "old version" that I need to update is... the version I need???
I don't know if you forgot to change the title, or I'm having some sort of memory loss... but i'll figure it out soon enough.
Anyways, about the time problem, I have noticed a way to pause the game, but it's not convinent, and should be removed. When you start the game, either by a new or continue, and you start up in your house, the time is paused.... but if you leave and come back its not... nor will it ever be untill you load the game. Like I said, not really convinent.

Yeah, I've taken away the constantly going clock. Instead the clock will update when you do things.
I'll get the new version of this game up soon. It will have watermill and windmill stuff too!

You redid the gifiting?
Uh, oh. Could you expain how you redid it? Cause in previous versions, I spammed a potential spouse with everything I could forage so I could test the end of the game and such. So... If they have likes and dislikes, I want to know before I do such actions. And no, for spoiler purposes, dont tell me what their likes and dislikes are. I just want to know if there is. Thanks!

Oh, I redid the functions that determine how much friendship and love to increase and who you are giving it to. NOT the liked/disliked gifts on their own.
That being said, I'm still working on what gifts should be liked and disliked by each character. In fact, a lot of people will react neutrally to most everything at this point. If I remember correctly.
...I think I'll post who still needs gift data.
