Is it not insanely short?? I got my first one spring year 3, and it passed away fall year 5. That's 2.5 years! >:0

Is this what everyone else has observed as well?

Side question: Anyone know if the time your animals spend being "kept" while you're in Konohana count toward their life spans? (My alpaca was continuously with me though.)

Honestly, I don't understand this system. I got my first chick from Jessica and after few days I bought a next chick from her. The first chicken passed away (spring year 3) and the second one is still alive (now I have year 4). Maybe they will live longer if you speak to them every single day? :?

Is it possible you kept your first chicken with you in Konohana, but not the other one? If so that would answer my question about how that affects life span.

Actually if you had a chicken die after 3 years, I think that already answers my question. I had one die after 5, but I didn't have it with me for many seasons in Konohana. Probably only the time you're taking care of them counts toward their life span.

But I was living in Bluebell then. I didn't move to Konohana.

The life spans in this game sound very confusing. *I haven't played my game in awhile*

Yep. One day I didn't speak to my chicken. On the next day I triggered the death event (gladly, I didn't save the game before that). I turned off my ds and played once again. I spoke to my beloved chicken and.... I haven't seen that event anymore.

You're saying you had lived in Bluebell for the entire length of the chicken's life? Huh. I'm stumped then.

I speak to my animals every day without exception, so that shouldn't be related to the short life span of my alpacas. u_u
