I'm aware we all know Natsume translates games like 4kids dubs anime - not very well. But of all the Harvest Moon games, I can wholeheartedly say this one is the worst written. What do you guys think?
I played this game long time ago so I don't remember the dialogues well. I think they are random and not interesting. The characters sometimes say something funny, but usually they repeat some random lines like "The weather is nice today" or "I like singing... lalala..."
Okay, I know what I'm going to say is mean but yes it is badly translated and had few to many translations errors or rewrites. Though it is not the worse I've seen since there's many others I've seen and watched which translated based on how the translator felt like and did not comply to context of the situation or even had any relevance to the storyline or event. At best, most translation can only achieve at least 80% of the original meaning. Never 100% since it would not suit the area where the game is being sold due to 'localization' issues. I'll it at that since I can go on forever about this topic.
None of the characters randomly speak German, so I can't say that it's the worst dialogue I've seen. In fact, I can't remember any « What The Eggplant » moments with the dialogue while playing this game, so I guess it was pretty decent.
