Konohana vs. Bluebell?

What did you pick? Why? What exactly are the differences between the two villages when it comes to field size, foraging, people, etc?
Just wanted to get to know about both sides so I can know what my options are when the game comes out in America. :D

I chose to start out in Konohana since I've always liked the crops aspect of HM games the most. Plus, I found out later on that taking care of large amounts of animals can be quite a bit more time consuming than farming.
I'm planning on moving to Bluebell once I've finished expanding everything, though, since while you can use the planting fields in either, you can only use the barn of the town you're living in (can't think of how many times I've typed out that sentence before...)
Oh, and another thing to keep in mind that I don't see mentioned here very often. Until you complete the tunnel, the shops in your current "rival" town will sell you items at a slightly higher price. I think the exact amount is 10% higher, using blue rose seeds from Kamil as an example. Before I opened the tunnel he'd sell them to me for 1650g, but after completion he sells them to me for 1500g.

Bluebell town is sadly the ugliest town I have seen in Harvest Moon. It is small and very random: 6 houses + church. Nothing more, nothing less. You need only 5 seconds to explore it. The town is also boring. You won't find anything special there. You can raise animals on your farm and grow some crops. The Bluebell has some pros too- for example: making money is much easier and the festivals are more fun.
Konohana is much prettier, bigger and original village. Your house is better-looking too and your field is much bigger. The crops grow much faster than in Bluebell because you can water them twice . You can also visit the other people's gardens. Konohana has also cons because making money is harder and the festivals are very challenging. If you want to be a winner of the crop festival, you need to have the seed maker first. But I love Konohana better than Bluebell.

You can water your crops twice in Bluebell, but upkeep on both plots before the tunnel expansion is just impractical. I think I tried it for a season, then went to one watering a day in the Bluebell plot and twice in Konohana, then just gave up entirely on Bluebell crop growing until I finished the tunnel.

Konohana: I've always loved to take care of crops more so then animals. For me Konohana is perfect, grow as many crops as I want, and be able to have a nice small amount of animals. Now for the town aspect, the town is just gorgeous compared to Bluebell. I love the town its beautiful. (Then again this is my side of I love Japanese themed type towns/items).
Bluebell: This is going to sound bad but the only thing I like about Bluebell is the access of raising multiple animals. The only time I'll live in Bluebell is due to two things, one if I'm feeling daring, and wanting to raise multiple animals. (Mostly Cows and Alpacas). Or two I want to do a "Romeo and Juliet" sort of thing. (What I mean is live in the oppsite town and court a guy I actually have my eye on in the other town. (Yeah I'm strange but at least I'm having fun with the game)). Town wise, well, Fretka answered all of that for me. The town doesn't do anything for me. Its just boring.

Bluebell: I really adore the European Style, it reminds me of the Netherlands. And I like the festivals and the townspeople more, somehow o.o But that could be because I choosed this town first, I dunno.
Aaand... I always liked it more to take care of animals than growing crops in a handheld HM. I don't know why, but it's just so. xD
Konohana: This town is very beautiful, really. But somehow the colour-theme isn't so appealing for me like in Bluebell (and actually, red is my favourite-colour... mysterious xD) and... I don't know, actually I like both towns, because both has good and bad sides. I like both on their own way ^^

I have a question--can you marry a bachelor/bachelorette that's not from the
town that you pick?
Also, I saw that someone above mentioned being able to move to a different
town? How does that work?
And if you pick Konohana, can you still raise livestock? o-o;

1. Yes
2. You can move to a different town every season between 26-30 day.
3. Yes. Your barn is smaller so you need to upgrade it if you want to have more animals. First you can keep only 2 chickens and 4 bigger animals + a horse and pets.

And does the opposite go for Bluebell in terms of upgrading
field size and stuff? xD Thanks~

Yup, you start out with 26 squares of farmable field in Bluebell, and eventually get more (near the bee huts, for one), but never nowhere near the amount you have in Konohana.

then again...I just finnished reading romeo and juliet in english class...and I loved it. I think I may consider doing the same thing

I have no idea what town I will live in when I get the game (lives in Canada) but I guess I like the idea of the crop town because I like growing crops and I like having a few animals...hmmmm...

Well, with me, I live in the oppsite town on who I want to court the most. For example in my girl file named Rin. I'm living in Kohonana because I want to court Kamil. In my other file (that I'm going to be deleting soon). I'm going to be living in Bluebell to courting Kiriku. So, its a process of elimation, and who I really want to marry/who interests me the most that day.

So you can court a villager from anoither town? Questions:
1- Do you have to live in the same town to propose?
2- If not will your husband move to your village or do you have to move to their village?
3- If 1 does not apply who will do the wedding?
4- Is the wedding held in town square or does it vary?
Thanks ahead of time if you do decide to take time to answer this.

1. You don't need to be in the same town to propose.
2. They will move to your village after marriage
4. Its held in the mountains. I've heard from other players that the wedding can be held in the church but I can't say for sure.

When you move from one village to another, does your farm/livestock stay
intact? Like, do they just all die off/suffer from neglect? xD That'd suck.
