Why does the cow say "Ooom"?

I've always seen it, but I just realized I don't actually know why it (he? she?) says "Ooom".

Is there a story behind this?

And also, is the message going to change to "Ooob" for Halloween?

I guess there is no reason other than it's probably because it's all backwards and crazy (kinda like some HM games/this site).

It's possibly also the sound it makes if you tried to give it some Ushi No Tane. After all wouldn't you be confused and not impressed? (ok so it would Ushi No Tane for people, but you get the idea)

I always thought it was because the cows on FoMT and MFoMT sound more like they say Ooooommmm than Moooooooo..
