house upgrade and double-bed question

Hello all, I'm a bit confused by the new house upgrade system. I remember reading it somewhere that you cannot upgrade your house and others once you get married. I missed a chance to upgrade my house during 1st summer, and haven't had Erin's request for the house upgrade since then (I'm now in 2nd yr Spring). Instead she has the double bed request, but I'm afraid if I complete her request, I'll never be able to do the house upgrade. Can anyone clarify on this? Thanks in advance.

You can still have both. One will just be later then the other.

That would be a really lousy feature if you couldn't upgrade your house once you're married.

Its not true. I've ran into the same problem. But I found out you can do the house-upgrade next month.

So, does that mean I can still get married and have access to all upgrades? But can I still get a double-bed before upgrading the house? If I get a double bed before the house upgrade, will Erin still let me do the house upgrade later?

You don't have a choice anyway. The double bed request will show up EVERY MONTH until you complete it; as long as it's up and you don't complete it, you can't do any house OR farm upgrades. Complete it ASAP!

And as everyone said, you will still be able to complete your house upgrade no prob.

Side note: I think if you upgrade both houses BEFORE marriage, you can probably save some money. Not sure though because I was trapped by my baby... (Once I had the baby, I couldn't move without automatically upgrading the other house, which cost 1.5 mil [that's 0.5 mil more than upgrading by request.]) If you decide to try it, please let us know if you were indeed able to save money.

Ah, what a relief. Okay, I'm going to upgrade before the marriage. Ria is at her red heart right now and the blue feather is available at the store, but I'm just gonna wait 'til I get the house upgrade. Thanks everyone for helping me out.
