How do you chose your names?

I just go with the default names for the protagonists. Pete, Claire, Mark, Mark, etc. Pony is an exception; I go with "Jill".

For my babies.. It's random, but with Pete as the protagonist I chose "Jack" just for kicks.

With animals.. Random too; whatever I feel.

My farm shall always be the Happy Farm. Any other name is wrong.

That's pretty much the one thing set in stone for me.

Player Name: My nickname. It's short; it's unisex; it works
My Farm: Red Farm, because my favorite color is red
My Cat's Name: After my real-life kitty who died
My Son's Name: Benny or Ben (depending on whether or not he'll grow into an adult) because "Ben" means "son" and I are teh imaginative
My Daughter's Name: Kanon, because Kanon was the name of the daughter I had in DS Cute when I accidentally overwrote my file. Like with the cat, I keep the name in memory of the one I lost T^T

All other names are more-or-less random, and usually based on something I have nearby at the time.

Usually for boys, it's just the first name that comes to my mind. For girls, it's the same, but lately I've just used my real name. For my kids, it's names that I'd like to name my kids someday.

For animals, it's either uncreative or random. For Marble cows, I name the cow Marble. But sometimes 'I'll be inspired and name it something different.

Anything that comes to mind, really. I've been known to name my cows weewoo and my goats Kitten. .__.

The player is named after myself, my dog is Brandy (from the dog on Hamtaro), horse is Speedy.

I use names that I first used on my 1st HM games when I was around 10. So my animals have generic names like Moomoo, Chicky, Sheepy, and so on.

I always use my name for my character (Danny).

I use something related to the game for my farm name (for example: Grand Bazzar - Windy Farm)

I usually use Japanese names for my animals ( like Yumi, Toshio, Suki, etc.

I sometimes choose names of friends, pets, or family. Or I name them after Harvest Moon characters from other games.

Always different. Mostly, I use for girls my nickname, Tori - and for boys Yuu. But in AP/ToT I used the japanese default names of the characters (Yuuki, Akari, Hikari, Takeru) because I like them. For my childern... japanese names, sometimes old-english ones, too. My first farm is always named Sakura Farm, because I used this name since my first HM, FoMT.
Animal names... random. How I feel at the moment. But my first cow is always named "Molly". XD

I usually name my player character a name a really like or a name from a book or movie. I have more names for girls, so I usually name my guy characters something simple, like Sam or Ben. As for my animals I name them whatever I can think up at the moment and if I can't think of anything I name them by what meat they make.

For the protagonist names, I rarely use my own name. If I think it fits the character, then I'll use it. I usually ask my friends what to name him/her or I name them after a character from a novel, an anime, or a TV show.

For my children, I usually name them the same why I name the protagonist. Except sometimes I name my kids in the game after people I know. c:

For my farm, I use whatever pops up in my head. In AP, I used 'meep.' :3

I remember that one of my friends told me that in FoMT she named her farm 'whatever'


And, I don't usually buy that many animals, so I just name them random words. Not names. xD

I just always go with Borabora or just Bora if it doesn't fit.

Which I just discovered on google is actually a really beautiful island resort.

My character is always Vann. Animals are always characters from video games, usually with a trend among each set (i.e. all CO names from Advance Wars).

For my characters, I just use their names. As for the kids... Whatever it comes to my head XD.
I only have two traditions: my farm is called "Arbol"(which is the spanish for "Tree". Yes, very original) and I name two cows "Aurora" and "Perla". Dont ask me why. Sometimes I even ask my brother for a name. Which isnt exactly a good idea. He named a cow "Nova".
